When we asked our social media followers how the gospel has impacted their careers, we loved seeing the touching and beautiful ways the gospel influences all aspects of our lives—even our jobs.

Here are 10 answers to that question posed on our Instagram account. We hope reading them will help you to see the blessings the gospel provides in every aspect of life.

Responses have been edited for clarity and brevity.

“As an HR manager in a food manufacturing plant, I don’t always mix religion into work, but when employees have hard things happen to them, I believe I can bring sympathy, empathy, compassion, and comfort to them. I have had a lot of employees experience tragedies over the years and I know I can comfort them and let them know God’s love for them.”

“As a 911 dispatcher and as an EMT, the gospel brings me hope, peace, faith, [and] comfort. The Holy Ghost tells me things I have no other way of knowing [which influences] how I handle calls.”

“The gospel has taught me to choose a career based on how I can serve others and still be active in the church and carry out my responsibilities both at church and at home.”

“As a nurse, the gospel has been my guidance especially with the knowledge and faith of eternal life as I have been able to help others with beginning and end of life circumstances.”

“I am a lot more patient and loving to my coworkers now that I am a member. I am not perfect, but I have noticed a significant difference in my mood at work.”

“I have been at my job for almost 30 years. I had been working a job that required me to work on Sunday. I was always able to attend at least sacrament meeting. I started praying to find a new job that didn’t require me to work on Sundays. A short time later, Heavenly Father blessed me to find my current job. I am so thankful for this blessing!”

“I have received career opportunities beyond what I ever expected in life and [have] been able to bless others around the world by it all due to the gospel, our Heavenly Father, and our Savior.”

“Being in healthcare, I am able to provide a type of care to my fellowman in which they can often feel the Spirit and love of the Savior.”

“I teach kindergarteners that come from some pretty rough home situations. The gospel has helped me see these little ones as Heavenly Father sees them, a beloved son and daughter of Heavenly Parents who love them.”

“I always wanted to do something with languages, especially English. Because I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, doors opened. I studied English and became a translator and interpreter for said church—a dream job for a most worthy cause, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ!”
