"His Blood Be on Us": What the Trial of Jesus Reveals About the Atonement

At the palace of Herod, Pontius Pilate brought the Savior before Jewish leaders to put Christ's fate in their hands.

Having found no fault in the Savior, Pilate allowed the Jewish people to sentence Christ to death by crucifixion.

"When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it" (Mattew 27:24).

Though it was an unimaginably horrific sentence, as Daniel Smith from Messages of Christ points out with the new video, the Jewish people's response, "His blood be on us," reveals something about the Saviors Atonement.
