I'm reviewing the Sundance darling Austenland today. This film has Mormon fingerprints all over it. Shannon Hale, who wrote the novel and co-wrote the screenplay, is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as is co-writer and director Jerusha Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre) and producer Stephanie Meyer. Also, lead actress Keri Russell was raised in the Church (she was in my stake growing up). Does the film cut the mustard for Austen fans? Will it be enjoyed by average movie-goers? Read on to find out!
Melanie Thomas Bullock hails from the upbeat city of Orem, Utah and “can cook an egg on the sidewalk” Marana, Arizona. She spent some time in Maine where she met her hilarious and raucous husband Brent, who passed away suddenly 6 years ago. She has 3 amazingly fabulous daughters that bring joy to her soul. Because she has impeccable timing, she decided to enter the medical field a few short weeks before a worldwide pandemic. Melanie doesn’t do anything “easy.” She’s currently remodeling her home along with her 9-year-old daughter who loves swinging a sledgehammer, watching plumbing videos and laying floors. Melanie loves Del Taco, Jesus and Diet Coke. She also loves vacationing anywhere exotic (or wherever her budget takes her).
In 2016, wax figures of Donny and Marie Osmond were revealed at Madame Tussauds' Wax Museum. Donny took advantage of the opportunity to play a little prank on visitors in the museum, and the video went viral. We wanted to reshare this video to give you a few April Fool's laughs.
For Father's Day, instead of just getting presents from his family, Alex Boye decided to create a special gift for the people who matter the most in his life—his wife and children. Check out this adorable and surprisingly funny cover of Lukas Graham's "7 Years."

While some may wonder where their "Elf on the Shelf" is going to be next, this LDS father and son duo are more concerned with what's inside.

How do two 19-year-old missionaries from Provo, Utah, feel when out trying to share the gospel day after day? Well, the YouTube group Joseph & Smith, composed of Marcus Joseph and Korey Smith, seem to capture it perfectly in this missionary parody of Adele's hit song, "Hello."

LDS artist Shannon Christensen Abbot created an incredibly beautiful and funny song that received over 30 million views, a song about the daily struggles of motherhood set to Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." And now she's done a follow-up mommy song, set to the tune of the Beatle's "Yesterday." Check it out!

You’re invited to Lift Up Your Heart, a Magnify Gathering. And for today's episode, we’ve gathered a few of our speakers from this event.
