For the first time ever, Time Out for Women (TOFW), a popular national weekend event for women, will be streaming live via the Internet during the sold-out Salt Lake City, Utah, show on Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27, 2012. This exciting new way of experiencing TOFW in the digital age will be available for women around the globe to watch and enjoy free of charge as TOFW celebrates its tenth anniversary.
It is expected that over 5,000 women from around the world will watch the live broadcast. The online viewers combined with the 5,200 women attending the event at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City will make this TOFW’s largest event to date. The Salt Lake City Live Stream will feature music by grammy-nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker and power pop-trio Mercy River. Popular LDS speakers and authors Sheri Dew, Virginia Pearce, John Bytheway, Brad Wilcox, Emily Freeman, Chris Williams, and bloggers from Our Best Bites will also take the stage. This free live streaming of the Salt Lake event will capture the energy, excitement, and uniqueness of a TOFW weekend and allow women from remote parts of the world to participate in a virtual gathering of faith-based women. Participants will be able to watch the event in real time during the show or as a recording until 11pm (MDT) on November 3. This allows women in international time zones to watch the event on their own time schedules and at their own pace.
Chrislyn Woolston, Director of TOFW, explains the intended impact of this event: “We know there are women around the world who don’t currently have the opportunity to gather and connect at a TOFW weekend. This brings the TOFW experience a little closer and gives them the chance to be a part of this dynamic community of faithful women.”
Since it first started in Phoenix Arizona in 2002, Time Out for Women has entertained and inspired over 200,000 women in over 40 cities by bringing together chart-topping musicians and beloved speakers from the LDS community and beyond to share their stories, insights, and talents with diverse audiences.
This year’s tenth anniversary theme, Seek the Good, invites women to seek the good that exists in their lives right now, the good that life has waiting for them, and the good they can bring to others’ lives.
