Tickets were gone in less than an hour on Saturday for The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s Christmas concert with Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. When Chenoweth was announced as the guest artist on Friday, social media lit up with fans sharing their approval in comments such as, “The greatest singer with the greatest choir!” “A winning combination!” “Perfect guest artist! and “She is amazing!”

Chenoweth will join The Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells on Temple Square on December 13, 14, and 15 in the Conference Center. The concert is under the direction of Mack Wilberg, music director of the Choir, and Ryan Murphy, associate music director.

Choir General Manager Scott Barrick said, “The Choir and Orchestra perform these free concerts as a service to the community and we are delighted by the enthusiastic response to this year’s guest artist. With such a high demand for these free tickets, we know there were challenges to securing them online and we appreciate the patience of those seeking tickets. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the process and user experience.”

The 21,000-seat Conference Center is expected to fill with capacity crowds all three nights for the concert which are an annual tradition for the Choir and Orchestra. Those who received tickets will need to either print them or forward them electronically from their My LDS Tickets account and are strongly encouraged to visit “How to Manage Your Tickets” at lds.org/events for more information.

For those who did not receive online tickets, there are still ways to see the concert. Watch the Choir’s website after Thanksgiving for details on a second chance ticket give-away contest. During the concert week, consider joining the standby line which will form at the north gate of Temple Square each night of the concerts. Patrons from the standby line will be seated in the Tabernacle to wait and taken to the Conference Center to fill empty seats as they are available. Standbys are often able to be seated in the Conference Center, but if not, the concert will be shown via closed circuit in the Tabernacle on big screens for patrons seated there.

Another way to see the experience the Christmas spirit is the Bells on Temple Square holiday concert, all performed by the 35-member, all-volunteer ensemble. The Bells’ annual concert, “Ring in the Holidays,” will be on Friday and Saturday, November 16-17, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in

the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square. Online tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. at lds.org/events on a first-come, first-served basis.
