72-year-old Indexes a Million Names

Five years ago when Sherryl Peterson was reading an article about indexing in the LDS Church magazine the Ensign, she decided it was her time to begin. Peterson, 72, has been faithfully indexing ever since and on Aug. 29 processed her millionth name for extraction.

“I was really excited about it because that happened to be my mother-in-law’s birthday also,” said Peterson, a member of the Star 1st Ward in the Burley Idaho Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “She was a special lady in my life. … I was doing something for my Heavenly Father, and it was a day I can remember.”
