Photo Gallery: Women Who Have Mothered Us

by | May 11, 2013

When I was 7 months old, my father passed away leaving my mother a widow with an infant. About a month later she was introduced to Amalia Galaviz. Amalia lived with us until I was about 15. She became my second mom, loving and teaching me as much as my real mom. She is about to turn 93 and is still involved in my family's lives. Everyone loves Grandma Amalia. She is the proof to me that families aren't always biological but connected through the heart!
