Chicken a la King

This delicious can easily incorporate food storage ingredients, fresh ingredients, or both. If you are new to using your food storage, this recipe is for you! You will see the quality and convenience of freeze-dried foods. You'll also see how far your food storage buck stretches with dehydrated foods. Enjoy! 

Ingredients 

2 teaspoons clarified butter 
1 cup freeze-dried green pepper
1 cup freeze-dried mushroom slices
1 cup freeze-dried zucchini+
1 cup freeze-dried asparagus
1 cup chicken broth+
1 cup freeze-dried chicken
1 cup water 
1/4 cup sour cream powder

1 tablespoon whole egg powder

salt and pepper to taste 

+ Reconstitute before using. Follow directions on #10 can to reconstitute. 

Directions
1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute vegetables until tender. Stir in broth. Cook until thickened, stirring continuously.
2. Add chicken, heat through and remove from heat.
3. In a small bowl, combine sour cream powder, whole egg powder, salt, and pepper and water. Add mixture to skillet. Stir until heated through, serve hot, over rice or noodles.

Other varitions: Any freeze-dried vegetable could be used in this recpe, any type of chicken (seasoned, asian style, etc.) or turkey.
