No Conference Talks Given in Native Languages This Time

As LDS general conference picked up again Sunday morning, social media users noticed something unusual.

None of the speakers had given a talk in their native language.

According to LDS church spokesman Eric Hawkins, that has come by direction of the faith's top leaders.

Elder Christofferson Spoke in 2 Languages This Conference, Recorded His Own Translation

"Decisions about general conference proceedings rest with the First Presidency who have decided that all talks for this weekend's sessions will be given in English," Hawkins said in a statement to 2News.
