18 enchanting photos of temples and full moons

Did you know that on July 3, Earth saw its first supermoon of the year? Early that morning, the moon arrived at its closest point to the Earth—nearly 14,000 miles closer to the Earth than a usual full moon—making it look 5.8% bigger and shine 12.8% brighter than a regular full moon. 2023 will also see three more supermoons rise on August 1, August 30, and September 29.

In honor of this summer’s abundance of supermoons and National Moon Day on July 20, we’ve compiled a photo gallery of temples under the light of a full moon. Enjoy!
