"Regardless of who you are, your kids don't need any other kind of mom, because they need what you have. God gave them to you," Whitney Permann of the musical trio Mercy River shares. Despite the fact that we often compare ourselves to "craft mom" or "tea party mom" or "intricate hair mom," we each have something that only we can share with our kids.

"Our best mothering happens when we mother authentically," Permann says. "You can not be perfect for your kids, but you can be their perfect mom."
