MR says: The first edition Book of Mormon, valued at between $30k and $40, was stolen recently from a Mesa store. Glad this piece of history has turned up.

Law enforcement authorities in the Washington, D.C., area have recovered an original, 182-year-old Book of Mormon that was stolen last month from an Arizona bookstore, The Arizona Republic reports.

A suspect, who was known by the owner of the bookstore, has also been arrested and awaits extradition to Arizona.
