Perhaps one of the most frustrating parts about going on vacation is trying to live out of a suitcase--even if just for a few days--and getting all your belongings all jumbled up. This becomes even more difficult when you have little ones who can't do things for themselves. Make your life easier by packing all your child's outfits in individual plastic bags to keep things organized--and then you won't have to worry about the husband dressing baby girl in mismatched clothes, too.

If you're like my mom, you use these creamers to create deluxe hot chocolates, but even if you don't, you'll find that peanut butter jars, parmesan cheese shakers, and more all come in clear plastic containers with lids that can be sealed on easily. Organizing road-trip snacks this way will make life easier as you don't have to worry about boxes of crackers that won't stay closed and bags of treats that don't seal back up and you your kids can easily see what options are available and choose a snack for themselves.

This is a great tip and organization system for everyday life--not just road trips. This woman has everything you could need--hand sanitizer, sunscreen, paper towels, umbrellas, all stored consistently in the trunk of her van. It's easy to forget those little things on a day trip to the beach or on a long vacation, and having these essentials always on hand could be a lifesaver--or at the very least, it will save you a trip to the store.

I hate going on road trips and letting my toothbrush intermingle with all my other toiletries to get them wet and them get my toothbrush dirty. Here's the perfect solution to keeping your toothbrush clean, your other items dry, and keeping all the toothbrushes and toothpaste together in one convenient (and cute!) spot. You can check out this tutorial or look at these variations for individual toothbrush holders for everyone in the family.

These car kits are genius. They make sure all the kids have a spot for their belongings so they don't get lost on the long trip and have lots of fun things to keep them entertained. And because they hook onto the headrest of the seat in front of them, that means they also won't get lost or spill everywhere to make a mess. Awesome.

If you're traveling with your furry friend in tow, road trips can be even more complicated than usual. Many dogs don't like traveling down on the floor of the vehicle where they can't see what's going on, and many get car sick. If you've got the space to give your dog a row--or even just a seat--you can create one of these great car seat covers to help your dog stay comfortable and keep him from messing up your vehicle.

In case you're not in love with the treat idea above, here's another fantastic one that will keep kids from complaining who's eating more of the Wheat Thins: individual treat boxes. No more passing things around and worrying about sharing; everyone has their own treat box to devour at their discretion, and everyone gets the exact same thing.
