MR says: For evangelicals, berating Billy Graham is like Catholics dissing the pope.

The Rev. Samuel Wynn admired Billy Graham and his evangelistic association for decades, joining its spiritual crusades and urging fellow Christians to do the same. But no more.

"I will never again support anything by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association,” said Wynn, the superintendent of a United Methodist Church district in Fayetteville, N.C.

The source of Wynn’s ire: The BGEA’s recent removal of language on its website calling Mormonism a “cult.”

Good for Billy Graham. This Wynn fellow is certainly mixed up. He says: "My question to Billy Graham is, What’s more important for the kingdom of God: politics or the message of Jesus Christ?” Um ... does he realize that he's not in charge of the kingdom of God or who enters it? Even a Jehovah Witness could make it into heaven if he did the best to obey the Lord, despite being extremely hampered by a denomination that denies Christ's deity. And this business of calling Jehovah Witnesses a cult and Mormons a cult and even Catholics a cult (yeah, I've even heard that) is ridiculous. There are many Christian denominations, and not one of them has failed to mix up the truth that the Lord has given them with tradition and misinterpretation. The Mormon church has less excuse for it than all the others, since it was given more facts outright, straight from the Lord. But all are under condemnation. (The Mormon church more heavily.) So get your facts straight, Wynn. Protestants cannot stick their heads up and say they are more correct than Mormons. Often they are not. Moreover, they suffer from many false traditions and false teachings, the key of which is that obedience to the Lord is not necessary. (Believe me, it is.) I'd take a Catholic or a Mormon any day over the kind of Protestant who insists he's saved by grace and hates to hear James say that faith must be proven by works. And what are the works? Obedience to Christ the Lord. Yeah. Obey the Lord, people. Everything else is just dross. So if you're going to criticize Romney (and you can), do it because he has failed to stand by the Lord, not because he's a Mormon. You'll get nowhere with the Lord based on the latter complaint. (If, however, you were to complain to the Lord that Romney is not the best Mormon around, He'd say, "I know it.") The only legitimate complaint against Mormons is that they have no excuse for disobeying the Lord and yet they do it. This is a sufficient condemnation to set anyone's teeth on edge, and it happens to be accurate. But if you start getting mad at Mormons just because you have denomination prejudices, be careful, because the Lord's teeth will be set on edge against YOU.

I think wynn is not happy unless he is preaching untruths against not only mormans but if I may, others that are not donateing to his bank account. When I was of another faith there were two churches in my area that were the same faith and they started fighting over who's boundry I and my family were in. I learned that it was over who got my thiting oney. Pitiful,, I didn't go to either one after that. It's a shame that it's the norm these days that people of different faiths feel they have to put each other down and try to degrade each other to make themselves look better that the Lord thinks they truely are. Well I guess the saying let those who are without sin let them cast the first stone, well I guess it only pertains to the other person. Wynn and those who are judgeing others need to reread the bible not the hate they print against others that are not of there faith.. Just for the record my wife was a methodist and they didn't preach that people were a cult if they didn't believe the way they did. I'm sure Wynn didn't get a document from the lord that said that he should trash other christians. We all have the same chance to go before the Lord to be judged for what we did in this life, weather we gain access into heaven or the firey place. As for those who feel its ok to preach nasty things against others I say good luck with that if it makes you a bigger person. Try reading the scriptures where it says judge not lest you be judged. I tired of people preaching all the hate against other churches. Heres a thought try reading what their about then keep your opinions to yourself. Have a nice day ,,, if you can.

Great! Now that Billy Graham has taken the LDS church off of the cult list, maybe he should be taken off of the "stupid list" ?
