Mormons in the 2012 Paralympics, days 3 & 4: Blind sprinter takes gold; archer advances to semi-finals

Mormon sprinter Jason Smyth won gold and set another world record in the 100-meter race Saturday at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London this weekend. Smyth, of the Belfast Northern Ireland Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ran the race in 10.46 seconds on Saturday, breaking the 10.54-second world record he set the previous day in the preliminary heat of the T13 division.

He picked up an Irish flag proclaiming: “Fastest Paralympian on the Planet” for his victory lap.
