April 2020 general conference didn't fall short of expectations. During the special evening session of general conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced a new symbol to identify the Church visually as the Church of Jesus Christ in addition to announcing a worldwide fast on Good Friday, (April 11, 2020) to help alleviate suffering due to COVID-19. A new proclamation was also issued by the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in conjunction with doing a Hosanna Shout, and eight new temple announcements

On Twitter, many reacted to the news during general conference in both inspiring and funny ways. But whatever their take on conference, it's clear that Latter-day Saints were grateful for the opportunity to worship together during this time self-isolation. Read their comments below.

This #LDSconf feels very vulnerable. Our leaders speak to a nearly empty room, imagining listeners in many states of health across the globe. @NelsonRussellM's remarks highlight how these words are spoken as a balm. The Spirit is powerful and concentrated. — Elizabeth Pinborough (@artofstriving) April 4, 2020

There is no better man! I know his heart & he is truly a disciple of Christ. pic.twitter.com/M6AhfdcykL — Dan Rascon (@TVDanRascon) April 4, 2020

My favorite part of #GeneralConference so far is hearing President Nelson whispering after a talk is finished “Well done” “Magnificent” — Shane Taylor (@s4_tay) April 5, 2020

Still in shock. It is unbelievable that we are planning a temple in UAE. Living here in the Gulf, it is an amazing miracle. #GeneralConference — Joe Kewish (@kewish) April 5, 2020

[personal religious tweet] Not being able to worship together these past 3 weeks has been more difficult than I could have imagined. I’ve never been more grateful for the spiritual nourishment that will come from being *remotely together* at #GeneralConference this weekend. ❤️🙏🏼 — Spencer Cox (@SpencerJCox) April 4, 2020

I spent a brief time with @NelsonRussellM & Sister Nelson in the #SacredGrove last August during the filming for #GeneralConference. It was a once in a lifetime experience to walk in the grove with a #Prophet. #churchofjesuschrist #proclamation pic.twitter.com/RE7xWARTJF — Gary Boatright Jr. (@gboatman12) April 5, 2020

“Hi, this is the Bishop, I’m calling to invite you to speak in...” Youth: “Sacrament Meeting?” Bishop: “No. A little bigger.” Youth: “Stake Conference?!” Bishop: “No. A little bigger.” Youth: “What’s bigger than Stake Conference?” Bishop: “Um...” — Hank Smith (@hankrsmith) April 5, 2020

We’ve been doing so many Zoom preschool lessons and FaceTime calls lately that my daughter walked up to Elder Holland on the screen, hesitated, & asked, “...Can he see us?” — 🍄 Shayla 🍄 (@shayla_who) April 5, 2020
