The day police found the body of her son, Maryanne Swenson posted on a Facebook page Bring Paul Home, "I have been privileged to the direct insight of the goodness of others and we thank God every day for each one. . . . We rely on our Heavenly Father and his infinite love to carry us. He is all knowing, and loving and all wise. One thing I do know is that He knows how to take difficult things and turn them into something beautiful. That instills hope and courage. Miracles. I believe in miracles. Especially ones of the heart. Paul, we love you. We always have. You were a gift from heaven."

While on a boating trip on Saturday, LDS man Mike Millgate rescued a woman from drowning in a Utah reservoir, but unfortunately, the woman's husband had already slipped below the water. "I'm not a hero," Mike Millgate told KSL after saving a woman from drowning in a Utah reservoir. "Saved one, but . . . that other dude drowned at my feet somewhere."
