Altanta-based Network Releases New Series on the Church, Shares Inspiring Story of Local Seventy

On Friday, November 16, the Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters (AIB) Network released the first episode of its new docuseries on the Church, "Exploring the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

The AIB Network is a nonprofit organization that highlights other nonprofit religious organizations in the greater Atlanta area. Audrey Galex, the series' writer and producer picked the Church to feature because of her positive interactions with members of the faith in the past.

Per a press release written by the local public affairs council of the Church in Atlanta, "Having served as president and on the board of the Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta, [Galex] got to know fellow board member Mike Holmes, an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ." Galex said of her interaction with Holmes, "We worked alongside each other at a Habitat for Humanity build, then I was invited to tour the Church’s Bishops’ storehouse.  It was those experiences that sparked my interest in focusing a series on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints."

The first episode discusses the basic beliefs of the Church, features interviews with currently-serving missionaries, and shares the story of Area Seventy, Elder Rene Alba. Elder Alba speaks about his early life in Mexico, immigrating to the United States, and how his testimony of Jesus Christ and the gospel has affected his professional and personal life.

Upcoming episodes will feature an early-morning Seminary program, a couple who served as missionaries in several countries, and a young man who recently returned home from serving a mission in the Congo.

The first episode can be found on the AIB Network YouTube page. For more information about live-streaming services, future episode release dates, and local channel options, visit the AIB Network website.
