Latter-day Saint Life

Different Faiths Can Bring the Community Together

For the past nine years, my wife, Patsy, and I have had the opportunity of serving as Public Affairs Directors in Southern Utah for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You might ask what that is and how it gets done. We have wondered the same thing at times.

Simply stated, it is our way of achieving our church president’s challenge given to every member when he said, “I would encourage members of the Church wherever they may be to show kindness and respect for all people everywhere. We can and should demonstrate respect toward those whose beliefs differ from ours.” (Thomas S. Monson, General Conference, 2008)
