LDS missionaries safe after New Zealand quake

All LDS Church missionaries serving in New Zealand are safe and accounted for in the wake of Monday's devastating earthquake centered in Christchurch. Several dozen people are confirmed dead following the midday magnitude-7.0 quake, with a pair of aftershocks measuring 5.6 and 5.5 in the following hours.

By Monday night, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had accounted for the safety of all its missionaries serving in the South Pacific island nation, said church Scott Trotter.
