Mormon Life

From Jan. 15 through March 5, thousands of people will tour the Provo City Center Temple, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' 150th temple.

Community members have tracked its transformation from a tabernacle to a temple for the past five years, peeking over construction fences and watching live video feeds. While fewer people may be eyeing the building after the dedication on March 20, the LDS Church has many other temples in the works around the world, which church members are eagerly anticipating.

Here we've compiled information about the 29 LDS temples that are being renovated or are in various stages of construction.

Bangkok Thailand

President Monson announced plans to build a temple in Bangkok, Thailand, during the 185th Annual General Conference on April 5, 2015.

The nearest temple is in Hong Kong, 1,000 miles away.
