The new year is starting out with a new program for children and youth, and President Dallin H. Oaks and his wife, Sister Kristen Oaks, are excited to talk to youth about the program at the first 2020 Face to Face.

The Face to Face, which will be held on Sunday, February 23, at 4:00 p.m. (MST), will be focused on telling the stories and experiences of youth using the program as well as discussion on how to be successful in the program.

“We hope that many of you will join us as we discuss how to implement our new program for youth to grow to be more like Jesus Christ,” President Oaks said in a video invitation. “We want you to know that you can do this.”

President Oaks invited the youth to share what they are doing to grow as the Savior did by posting on social media using #StrivetoBe. Youth are also invited to submit questions to be answered during the broadcast at Face2Face.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Referencing the 2020 youth theme found in 1 Nephi 3:7, Sister Oaks testified that the Lord will help the youth.

“[Nephi] knew the Lord would help him and as you strive to be more like our Savior we know the Lord will help you as well,” Sister Oaks said in the video.

“We love the youth of the Church and know that the Lord has great confidence in them,” President Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency, said in a released statement. “That is why He is inspiring the leaders of His Church to give them more opportunities for leadership and growth than ever before. They are being invited to lead their quorums and classes and to participate more fully in gathering scattered Israel.”
