After guessing where his sisters would serve, this high schooler created an app for compiling mission call guesses

For many Latter-day Saints, awaiting the mission call of a loved one means that it’s time for everyone to make their guesses regarding where the future missionary will be called to serve. Now, thanks to a new free app, it is easy to collect everyone’s guesses in one place.

The Mission Guessing Game was created by Wesley Mangum, who is only a senior in high school, with the help of his father, Gary Mangum, and was inspired by the fun his family had guessing where his sisters would be assigned to labor.

Still, the Mangums found that what was most exciting was the feeling that came as their family gathered together and a mission call, signed by a prophet of God, was opened.

“As my daughters read those words from a prophet telling them where they have been assigned to labor, I think we all knew at that moment that it was right,” Gary Mangum told Deseret News. “And for both of them it ended up being exactly right.”
