President Nelson Issues Invitation to Share the Restored Gospel in Preparation for April 2020 General Conference

To start out the New Year, President Russell M. Nelson shared a post on social media about what to do to prepare for April 2020 general conference.

"We invite you to be a major part of sharing the message of the ongoing restoration of the Savior's gospel," President Nelson wrote in the post. "We will share more about this soon, but you can start today by acting on the invitations I extended to you last general conference to immerse yourself in the glorious light of the Restoration."

At the closing session of October 2019 general conference, President Nelson explained that April 2020 general conference will be "different from any previous conference."

President Nelson noted that 2020 marks exactly 200 years since Joseph Smith's First Vision and the year would be marked as a bicentennial year.

In the post he recommended reading the account of the First Vision and contemplating the impact the Book of Mormon and the First Vision. 

"It is your personal preparation that will help April's general conference become for you not only memorable but also unforgettable," President Nelson wrote. "The time to act is now. This is a hinge point in the history of the Church, and your part is vital."
