This beautiful building will not only bless the lives of those who enter its walls, it also is the fulfillment of several prophecies.
Religion used to be everywhere in the presidential elections. George W. Bush courted conservative believers in 2004. In 2008, Sarah Palin excited evangelicals and — unexpectedly — so did Barack Obama. What a difference a few years make. Hirsch has apparently long advocated "the restoration of apostles acting decisively" to serve as "the primary custodians of the DNA of the church."
L. Tom Perry, with big hands and an even bigger grin, is the oldest and tallest living Mormon apostle. He also might be the least well-known.

For 40 years, from 1853 until 1893, the Mormon settlers in Utah labored and sacrificed to construct the Salt Lake Temple. The process of moving and chiseling granite and placing the stones in exactly the right spot was no small feat, especially without the use of modern technology.
