After traveling back to his home country of Sierra Leone in December, Fas Lebbie recalls children curiously approaching a growing crowd in the street of Freetown.
I have known my friend Kimberly for over 20 years—we grew up together, my mom was her teacher, her mom babysat me. Kim was a bridesmaid at my wedding and my sister's wedding—she is essentially an adopted part of our family. She is 3 years older than me and has taught me some of the most profound and sacred lessons of my life. My whole family would agree that she is one of the most incredible people we've had the privilege to know in this life.
This week, our ward Relief Society received our copies of the new book, Daughters in My Kingdom. I was so excited to see it finally passed out!
What a sweet testament to the life of this incredible sister missionary: "We draw comfort from the belief that Sadie is with her Heavenly Father and that she continues the Lord’s work with the same vigor and enthusiasm that she did in life. Profanity in media is linked to teen aggression, a recent study out of Brigham Young University found. Research shows that exposure to profanity directly relates to an individual's beliefs and behavior. "We were really interested in how the media can influence your view about profanity," Laura Stockdale, a coauthor of the study, said. "So we looked at if [teens] think it is OK to use profanity, if [they] think that it's normal and appropriate, and then [their] actual profanity use and how [their] profanity use is related to aggressive behavior."
Since the time he entered the Manila Philippines Temple in July 2001, just before leaving for his mission to Singapore, Riaz Gill of Karachi, Pakistan, knew that he wanted to return to the temple so he could have an eternal family. In 2007, his wife, Farah, was baptized, but funds were tight and they didn’t know when they would be able to make the trip to the temple, more than 3,500 miles (5,700 km) away. With the birth of their son, Ammon Phinehas, in 2009, their desire to be sealed in the temple grew even stronger, and late in 2010, with help from the Church’s General Temple Patron Assistance Fund, their prayers were answered.
I was blown away (sorry for the pun) at these photos of the Gilbert Arizona Temple in front of an upcoming “Desert Haboob” (an Arabic word meaning intense dust storm). Beautiful but unpredictable nature mixed with serene temple.
Recently, Team USA shared a video to their Facebook page of David Boudia and Steele Johnson's final dive that clinched their placement on Team USA.
