To become a dedicated disciple individuals must do more than just "watch the race," said Sister Elaine S. Dalton, Young Women general president, during a campus devotional held in the Marriott Center at BYU on Jan. 15. "To those who listen carefully, the Lord regularly prompts us to act," she said. "Never before has this been more so than now. I believe the Lord is calling to each of us to become dedicated disciples."
Every year, millions of tourists visit Washington, D.C., with its breathtaking monuments, vast array of American history, and the grand Smithsonian Museum. And among these wonders at the east end of the National Mall is one of the finest and largest libraries in the entire world.
People across the world are suffering from persecution. "And why are they suffering?" John Graz said. "Are they dangerous for their country? Are they bad people? No, most of the time they are good people. But they are suffering, they are discriminated against, they are excluded only because of their religion." Graz is the public affairs and religious liberty director for the Seventh-day Adventist world church and is secretary general for the International Religious Liberty Association (IRLA). He carries the message of religious freedom across the world — speaking in conferences and with politicians, religious leaders and scholars. He spoke recently at BYU at the 22nd annual conference of the LDS International Society about the global challenges and trends affecting religious freedom.

My only son participated in passing the sacrament for the first time last Sunday. Since he’s almost as tall as me and now has such sacred responsibilities, I guess it’s time to admit that he’s growing up. He has been anxiously awaiting this day, not only because the Primary program was absolute torture for him a few weeks ago, but also because he’s got a great quorum of friends to welcome him.
The smell of freshly varnished oak pews filled the chapel of Ogden’s historic LDS Fourth Ward. As light streamed through the building’s Italian-made stained-glass windows, workers scrambled to wrap up a two-year remodeling and seismic upgrade at one of northern Utah’s most historic churches in time for an open house Saturday and a rededication Sunday.
Sharon Eubank, the director of Humanitarian Services and LDS Charities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, received a standing ovation on 8 August during a speech titled “This Is a Woman’s Church” during the 2014 FairMormon Conference in Provo, Utah. Eubank’s remarks addressed recent press reports that allege “the Church is sort of oppressive, or that it’s stodgily conservative, or that it might somehow be a toxic environment for women to participate in.”
Tyra Orgill and Sander Morrison used their musical talents to create this amazing version of "We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet," and it's hard to believe they composed the arrangement in just a matter of days for a stake youth theme kickoff.
