Mormon mission age drop not as significant as feared on Utah colleges and universities

The enrollment fallout at Utah colleges and universities from the age drop of LDS missionaries will not be as significant as originally feared. In January, the Utah System of Higher Education released a report projecting enrollment dips of between 2 percent and 10 percent at Utah's public schools after The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints changed the allowable age of missionary service from 19 to 18 for men and 21 to 19 for women.

Open House and Dedication Dates Announced for the San Salvador El Salvador Temple

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced open house and dedication dates for the San Salvador El Salvador Temple. The public is invited to visit the temple during an open house from Friday, 1 July 2011, until Saturday, 23 July 2011, excluding Sundays. The temple will be formally dedicated on Sunday, 21 August 2011, in three sessions. The dedicatory sessions will be broadcast to congregations of the Church within the temple district.

Boy used Scouting skills to save brother's life

Grant Grier, age 12, of the Wilmington 1st Ward, Wilmington Delaware Stake, recently received the Boy Scouts of America Heroism Award. The award is presented to youth who have demonstrated heroism in saving a life.
