34: "A Principle with Promise" (Doctrine and Covenants 89–92)

Has the line from the Word of Wisdom that promises we will “run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint” ever come to mind when you get out of breath while trying to get a little exercise? Or maybe you’ve faced serious health problems and wondered how that promise applies to you. In this week’s study group, we dig into the history of the Word of Wisdom and explore just what those promises mean and how the Lord keeps them—because He always does.

16: “A Mighty Change” (April 20–April 26)"

What would you say to someone who asks: “How do I know if I've been forgiven of my sins?” It can be a hard question, right? Forgiveness of sins is sometimes a difficult concept for us to navigate in our lives. That’s why in this week’s study group we turn to Mosiah 4-6 for answers on how we can receive a remission of our sins, and also how we can retain a remission of our sins throughout our lives. Spoiler alert: there is “exceedingly great joy” involved.

18: “A Light … That Can Never Be Darkened” (Mosiah 11-17)

Imagine you are going to teach someone who has never heard about Jesus Christ before. What would be the first thing that you would tell them? In this week’s study group, we dig into Mosiah 11-17, some of the most concentrated chapters in the Book of Mormon about Jesus Christ's role in our salvation. We'll learn, from the prophet Abinadi's fervent efforts to bring King Noah and the wicked priests to a knowledge of Christ, how we can one day have an “endless happiness.”

28: “Ye Shall Be Witnesses unto Me” (Acts 1-5)

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland once said that a more complete title for the book of Acts could be “The Acts of the Resurrected Christ working through the Holy Spirit in the Lives and Ministries of His Ordained Apostles.” Isn’t that interesting? According to Elder Holland, the “acts” we refer to were Christ’s—not solely those of the Apostles left behind after His death. In today’s lesson, we will dive into Acts 1–5 and see how from the very beginning, the Holy Spirit was influencing the Apostles, and we will also be reminded of the active role the Savior desires to have in our lives.

26: “It Is Finished” (Matthew 27; Mark 15; Luke 23; John 19)

The last Friday of the Savior’s life was filled with devastating, consuming sorrow that will gnaw at the souls of those who love and honor the Son of God. Of all the days since the beginning of this world’s history, this Friday is the darkest. But as Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin once beautifully reminded us, “the doom of that day did not endure. The despair did not linger.” As we study the final hours of Jesus’s life in Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, and John 19, hold in your heart that both in scripture, and in our own lives, the glory and relief of Sunday will come.
