This article is written for two audiences. The first audience is anyone, Mormon or not, who may stumble across this blog and find interest in understanding how Utah’s unique socio-religious base affects the political scene. The second audience is anyone who has, or knows someone who has, seemingly received “personal revelation” from God to act in a particular way and then lambastes everyone for not acting in that expressed way. The Lemon Crinkle Cookie has held the winning title for the last six years, and we felt it was time to challenge it! The prize for this delicious contest? One hundred dollars to Deseret Book and bragging rights at every ward dessert potluck and family gathering.
Runners from around and outside the U.S. are planning to make their way to Boulder City, Nev., for the second annual Saints and Sinners Half Marathon and Team Relay on Oct. 26. The race’s purpose, according to its website, is to gather runners together to achieve something physically great while helping others achieve something spiritually great. All of the proceeds from the race are donated to the General Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
