Mandie Sherman and Natalie Moss: Sisters Outliving a Life Expectancy

When Mandie Sherman was born in 1989 with Cystic Fibrosis, she was expected to live just 18 years. Three years later, her little sister Natalie was also born with the same disease. As they have battled their condition, the two sisters have endured painful challenges and daily treatments together. And yet, they are determined to take every opportunity and live life to its fullest.

Noelle Pikus Pace: The Price Paid to Become an Olympic Champion

It was "the moment of the games" and one that will be forever etched into Olympic history—the moment when skeleton athlete Noelle Pikus Pace cleared a barricade to jump into the stands and celebrate her silver medal victory with her family. What you may not know is the road that brought Noelle to that moment: a runaway bobsled, days and weeks spent away from her young family, a shoestring dragging on the ice, and a miscarriage that led to a decision to come back one more time to a sports she loves. This is Noelle Pikus Pace’s journey to a silver medal, a medal she says was “as good as gold.”

6: “We Lived after the Manner of Happiness” (Feb. 3–Feb. 9)

But has it ever felt like the opposition in your life makes it difficult to feel that joy? In this week’s Sunday on Monday study group, we’ll be digging into 2 Nephi 1–5 and learning more about the law of opposition and why it’s essential for experiencing joy.

15: “Filled with Love towards God and All Men” (April 13–April 19)

Have you ever wondered what general conference might have been like for people in the Book of Mormon? In this week's Sunday on Monday study group, we get to draw comparisons between the messages taught in King Benjamin’s address, and the messages we “gathered” to receive at General Conference. We will dig into powerful truths of the Atonement of Jesus Christ taught in Mosiah 1-3 that apply to us, no matter when, or where, we come listen to a prophet’s voice.

28: "Plant This Word in Your Hearts" (July 13–19)

It's easy to think of "faith" as a super basic topic, but it can be much harder to figure out what it actually looks like IRL (in real life). In this week's study group, we're digging into some pretty well-known chapters on faith in Alma 32-35, and even if you think you know all the Sunday School answers, you might be surprised at all the different ways we can nourish and live our faith, especially during some of our darkest moments.

18: “A Light … That Can Never Be Darkened” (Mosiah 11-17)

Imagine you are going to teach someone who has never heard about Jesus Christ before. What would be the first thing that you would tell them? In this week’s study group, we dig into Mosiah 11-17, some of the most concentrated chapters in the Book of Mormon about Jesus Christ's role in our salvation. We'll learn, from the prophet Abinadi's fervent efforts to bring King Noah and the wicked priests to a knowledge of Christ, how we can one day have an “endless happiness.”
