Latter-day Saints around the world make significant sacrifices to believe. For Roohina Arya, a desire to follow Jesus Christ meant risking her life. Local laws forbade her conversion to Christianity and simply desiring to believe meant subjecting herself to physical abuse as well as a loss of security for her and her loved ones. Yet, she says that the hope of finding light was worth any risk. On this week’s episode, we talk with Roohina about her quest to come unto Christ and how her journey of faith transformed her life.
Andrea Hales felt inadequate to the task but she couldn’t deny the prompting she was feeling to start a podcast. The podcast would tell the stories of Native American Latter-day Saints and provide a platform to share their testimonies as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Hales knew she didn’t grow up close to her Navajo side of the family but she felt her heart turning to her fathers and, as a result, a podcast called “Tribe of Testimonies” was born.

For Utah resident Ted White, the past 13 years of his life have been like being on a treadmill. “You think it’s over, and then it’s not over." He spent five years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He went through three trials and to several courts to get his conviction overturned. “I think proving conspiracy is very difficult to do, and we were able to do that with a jury of my peers that heard the evidence,” he said.
Recently, a friend of a friend had any mother’s worst nightmare come to pass: her daughter went missing. Police originally labeled the disappearance as a runaway case, but from the get-go Indica Huddleston‘s mother, Andrea, felt that perhaps foul play was involved. Regardless of what the police are labeling the case (it may be updated to an endangered person’s case), Andrea did what any mother would do. She poured her heart, soul, and time into doing all she could to try to bring her daughter home. But she hasn’t stopped there. She’s also allowing God to pour truth and strength and light into her, and taking time to capture the truths that are coming. These quotes come from a post on her blog, Smile of Paradise.
