When the angel Moroni first visited Joseph Smith in 1823, he said that Joseph’s name would be known for good and evil throughout the world. Around the globe, millions of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints testify that Joseph was a prophet of God who restored Christ’s Church. As we write this in April 2020, the Church just completed a general conference that celebrated the Restoration. During this conference, the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles released a “Bicentennial Proclamation to the World” that shared their solemn witness of Joseph’s role in the “restoration of the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
