Chris Savage has been a public high school counselor since 2014, first in Los Angeles and now in Fort Collins, Colorado. Chris earned his College Counseling Certificate from UCLA and his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master’s degree in school counseling from California State University, Northridge. He is a loving husband and father of two. He loves being active (especially in the outdoors!), coaching volleyball, personal finance/investing, and learning new things.

Christopher Jones is a father, husband, and historian. A graduate of Brigham Young University (BA, 2007; MA, 2009) and the College of William & Mary (PhD, 2016), he is currently an assistant professor of history at BYU, where he teaches a variety of courses, including Revolutionary America, African American Family History, Slavery and the Slave Trade, Family and Law in American History, and Missions and Missionaries in American History. His research focuses on religion, race, slavery, and family in early America and the Atlantic World, and his work has been published in Religion & American Culture: A Journal of Interpretation, the Journal of Mormon History, and BYU Studies Quarterly. He is currently completing two book projects - a study of Methodism in Revolutionary America and a co-edited volume on Protestant and Latter-day Saint missions in American History. Christopher lives in South Jordan, Utah with his wife, Karim—a content creator, author, and photographer—and their four children. As a family, they enjoy food (both cooking and eating), hiking, reading, travel, and sports.

Emily Estes wears many hats- wife, best friend, mother of three, service operations executive, autism advocate and faithful Latter-day Saint- just to name a few. Emily attended Brigham Young University to study sociology while beginning a career in customer service. After establishing her career as a customer service manager, and one really bad sunburn, Emily met her husband Matthew in a Dayton, Ohio singles ward. One magical date with dinner and a 'Beatles' concert, and life has never been the same since! Emily, Matthew, their two boys and rambunctious shih tzu recently settled in Utah and patiently await the day when they can be reunited with their daughter in Heaven.

Matthew Estes lives in a beautiful home just south of Salt Lake City Utah with his gorgeous wife, two precocious children and adorable dog, Lucy. When Matthew isn't being a stay-at-home dad (aka chauffeur), he is a professional D&D Dungeon Master and manager at a local game shop. Through Dungeons & Dragons, Matthew is able to help youth and young adults find themselves through their imagination and develop valuable social skills. As an advocate for autism, having both a brother and son with this "superpower", Matthew enjoys the opportunity to help neurodiverse individuals find ways to express themselves. He also enjoys a good video game, reading a classic comic book or listening to interesting movie themed podcasts.

Jake lives with his wife and four children in Boise, Idaho. When he's not taxiing kids to practices and appointments, he loves to read, learn about new hobbies, and watch movies. He's a practicing attorney who also volunteers with an organization to help parents of children with special needs.

Millie Fletcher is thirteen years old. She is very athletic and excels in several sports, including basketball and volleyball. Millie is sensitive and outgoing and makes sure everyone around her is included. Millie enjoys animals, especially horses. She loves music, dancing, and making videos. The sisters live in Utah with their parents.

Hayley Fletcher is fourteen years old. She enjoys the performing arts and has been involved in several plays. She loves to sing, act, and listen to music and audiobooks. Hayley is a great student and friend; she always finds ways to involve others. She loves anything chocolate.

David-James Gonzales was born, raised, and educated in Southern California by Mexican American parents that instilled in him a love for education and a commitment to family and community. He is a professor of history at BYU where he teaches and researches race, migration, and civil rights in US History. He has published in several academic journals and anthologies including the Journal of American Ethnic History, American Studies (AMSJ), 50 Events That Shaped Latino History, and The U.S.-Mexico Border: A Reference Handbook. He is the receptor of multiple scholarly fellowships and awards including the Career Enhancement Fellowship by the Institute for Citizens and Scholars and the Butler Young Scholar Award by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies. His current book project is tentatively titled Breaking Down the Walls of Segregation: Mexican Americans and Civil Rights in Orange County, California. He is also a producer and co-host of the podcast New Books in Latino Studies, part of the New Books Network.

Emily Cushing was raised in South Jordan, Utah, and met her husband in their middle school math class. Her love of learning led her to become a teacher. She earned a master’s degree in teaching and learning at Brigham Young University and has taught, among other places, in Tonga, Myrtle Beach, and England. She currently teaches in the Education Department at Utah Valley University. She enjoys reading, running, traveling, living in foreign places, and, above all, spending time with her family.
