Jen grew up in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, graduated from the University of Utah, and served in the Italy Milan Mission. Her deepest worry about serving a mission was food—and clearly the Lord got the message. She met her favorite person on earth through the mission and she and Dave have been married for 20 years. They are the parents of four children and are raising their family in Sandy, Utah. They feel extra blessed to live so close to their parents and all of their siblings’ families. Jen loves riding her bike and hiking in the mountains just above her house. She loves traveling the world with Dave and her kids, but also equally loves staying home and wearing comfy clothes. She loves 80’s music, açaí bowls, going out with friends, and Sunday dinners with family. Jen is very involved at her children’s schools and is currently serving as a gospel doctrine teacher. She is passionate about studying the gospel and learning about Jesus Christ.
Laura grew up in San Jose, California, and now resides with her husband, Alan, in Sandy, Utah. She is the mother of four almost-grown children. She loves to travel and be with her family, especially if that includes the beach. After a hard, high-risk, twin pregnancy and then delivering her twins early, Laura found a strong connection to the Savior and a passion for helping others. Volunteering, serving in the community, and helping others is one of the special things in her life. She believes Heavenly Father gifts the most amazing experiences to us when we seek Him and put ourselves in these places. Studying the scriptures (especially with friends!), going to the temple and talking about Christ are some of her favorite things. She has found that gathering and talking about Jesus transforms any discussion or friendship into a sacred holy one!
Kristen Walker Smith is a co-host of the One Minute Scripture Study podcast, a Deseret Book masterclass teacher, BYU Education Week speaker, EFY teacher, and bestselling author. Kristen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University where she met her darling husband of almost 20 years; they are the parents of three wonderful, rascally children. When Kristen isn’t teaching the gospel you can usually find her rock climbing, listening to Elder Holland talks, or eating peanut butter—frequently all at the same time.
Tyler was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, enjoying the “Show-Me State” until he served his mission in Fresno, California. Because he lived in St. Louis, Tyler is a die-hard Cardinals fan (go Cards!). Tyler was the baby of four half-brothers and four half-sisters, but he doesn’t consider any of them “halves.” He was first married in 1999, and then divorced in 2005. He later remarried, marrying Tammy’s sister whom he had the biggest crush on while growing up. Today they have a family of three girls (20, 16, 16) and 2 boys (15, 10). Tyler began his law enforcement career in August of 2000. He first started at Utah State Prison. He later transferred to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office where he currently serves as a Sergeant. He has served in the following different areas throughout his career at the Sheriff’s Office: jail, patrol, investigations, contract-city patrol, courts with specialty assignments on the traffic team, Special Victims Unit, and SWAT. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time playing board games, bowling, and watching movies or hiking with his family.
Amy Whitmore, born of goodly parents, grew up in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. She fell in love with island life, the Book of Mormon, Spanish, and the people of Puerto Rico while serving in the San Juan mission. Amy’s love of the Spanish language came in handy as she opened restaurants and family entertainment centers throughout the country (and when visiting cities like Juarez, Mexico, where a certain karaoke contest practically made her famous with the locals!). Amy took a break from her career after meeting and marrying her “dream man,” becoming an instant mom to three children, and settling in the Pacific North West. Amy and “Dream Man” welcomed two more children together and are now happy to call Denver, Colorado, home. When she’s not building forts with her girls, installing a new toilet, dabbling in real estate, FaceTiming her precious granddaughter, cheering on the Young Women in her ward, or hosting a kitchen dance party, Amy loves to travel with her husband (and sometimes even with the children) to beautiful, island destinations!
