Bekki Hood grew up in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, until she moved to Arizona for her education. Because of her love for writing, teaching, and helping others, she earned a master’s degree in English at Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Idaho State University. She currently works as a counselor in Layton, Utah, and she teaches introductory writing courses at BYU. She loves visiting her family, spending time with friends, and crashing her parents’ vacations.
Emily Cushing was raised in South Jordan, Utah, and met her husband in their middle school math class. Her love of learning led her to become a teacher. She earned a master’s degree in teaching and learning at Brigham Young University and has taught, among other places, in Tonga, Myrtle Beach, and England. She currently teaches in the Education Department at Utah Valley University. She enjoys reading, running, traveling, living in foreign places, and, above all, spending time with her family.
Jenn Knight grew up in Indiana and now resides in Belmont, Massachusetts. She got her BA from BYU in International Politics with a minor in Chinese Studies. She served a mission in Taipei, Taiwan and returned to earn an MLA in Religion, Extension Studies at Harvard. She now majors in early-morning seminary and after-school activities as she stays home with her kids. She is mother to six, two of whom have graduated from this life and are helping out from the other side of the veil. She finds great joy in reading, exercising, Japanese folding techniques, and writing. Beth is married to Rick and has five children, ages 16-23, and she is enjoying this interesting and exciting time of having older teenaged and young adult children. Beth has worked in Human Resources her entire career and currently works for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as the managing director of HR. Beth loves to read, go on walks with friends, and bake on the weekends.
Connie Xiaohua Zhang was born and raised in Beijing, China. She earned her BA in economics from Beijing University and MBA from Harvard Business School. She is the founder and CEO of Riley River Consultants, established in 2009. She helps North American green technology companies and medical device companies develop business in China. She is a renowned speaker and instructor who teaches about networking and marriage relationships across multiple key Chinese social media platforms. She is the author of Network Up (2019) and How to Raise Socially Intelligent Children (2020). She teaches online courses and gives talks to broad audiences in China about networking. She also holds a real estate license from the state of Texas, where she manages a broad portfolio of real estate. She enjoys international travel with her husband and two sons and oil painting in her leisure time.
Greg didn't know what the word "Mormon" meant until he started dating Kirsten senior year in high school, though had a crush on her for more than a decade. Suffice it to say Kirsten was Greg's missionary, taught him the Gospel, introduced him to BYU, and waited for him while he served a mission in Venezuela. Greg graduated BYU with a degree in Electrical Engineering, though always preferred the business side of things. Currently he is COO for a life sciences instrumentation company in Provo, UT. Greg's hobbies include paragliding and sailing.
Jamie Goodwin grew up in Denver, Colorado. She met her husband, Doug, in college, and they are now the proud parents of four children. When she's not cheering her children on in their extracurricular activities, she stays busy as a freelance writer and editor.
Josie is a fun-loving, spontaneous dancing, always laughing soul who believes people should hug more. Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona she moved to Spokane with her family for her junior and senior year then moved to St. George recently completing her freshman year at Utah Tech. She sees the gospel in a different way than most, which prompted her early morning seminary teacher to say, “You should start a gospel podcast for kids,” which she is still trying determine whether or not was a compliment. A fond phrase of hers is “I love me some Jesus,” and she is convinced if anyone has a secret handshake with Jesus, it’s her.
Sarah Collins is a podcast producer, writer, and content creator for Deseret Book. Despite listening to podcasts all day for work, her favorite pastime is listening to a podcast while driving in the car. Sarah would pick Diet Dr Pepper over Diet Coke any day, and she prefers it with a large fry after running a big race. An avid reader and music enthusiast, she dreams of spending a day with none other than Taylor Swift. Sarah is from Lindon, Utah, and for her the best day ever is spent on a hike with her dog.
