Dr. Ben Schilaty is a social work professor at Utah Valley University. He also works part-time as a therapist specializing in working with LGBTQ Latter-day Saints and their families. He holds three degrees from Brigham Young University: a bachelor's degree in Latin American studies, a master's in Hispanic linguistics and a master's in Social Work; he also earned a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona. Ben learned Spanish and Portuguese during his mission in Chihuahua, Mexico, and when he lived in Bolivia, Peru and, Portugal. He taught Spanish for a decade at the middle school, high school and college level. Ben is the award-winning author of A Walk In My Shoes: Questions I am Often Asked as a Gay Latter Day Saint and cohosts the podcast “All Out in the Open.”
Camille Marsh was born in Alberta, Canada, and grew up in Bountiful, Utah. She graduated from BYU with a degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development and loves being a wife and mother of four awesome kids. She currently teaches seminary at Corner Canyon High School and loves learning and teaching about the gospel of Jesus Christ! Teenagers are her favorite! She lives in Draper, Utah, where she enjoys running, cycling, good books, and chocolate chip cookies.
Su Jones is an enthusiastic teacher who loves sharing her faith in Jesus Christ and His gospel. She has presented at BYU Women’s Conference and values opportunities to encourage faith and devoted discipleship. She is the mother of four children and grandmother of five and considers her family her greatest blessing. Su finds fulfillment in helping others discover lasting joy through their relationship with the Savior. She lives in Utah, where she spends her time with family, music, and lifelong learning.
Shawn Hunt has worked for Seminaries and Institutes of Religion for 30 years as a teacher, coordinator, pre-service trainer, and administrator. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Southern Utah University and a master’s in education from Weber State. He and his wife Mandy are the parents of five children. Shawn enjoys travel, family celebrations, and music. He is a self-proclaimed Christmas fanatic.
Brian Warburton is a historian in the Church History Department where he works on the Public History Team. He has degrees in history from Brigham Young University and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He loves making history accessible and approachable to the general public. Some recent examples of projects Brian has helped make accessible to the public are a forensic study of John Taylor’s pocket watch and returning the Hummer Bell (formerly misidentified as the Nauvoo Bell) to the First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City. Brian loves sports, nature, gardening, animals, and spending time with his two daughters and wonderful wife, Jill Warburton.
Maddy is a content producer for LDS Living. She graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Journalism and Communications. In her free time, you’ll find her attempting to master the perfect chocolate chip cookie, taking a long walk to power through her podcast queue, or defending her status as a Diet Coke critic.
Whitney is a student at Brigham Young University in Provo. She is currently an undergraduate studying in the Ancient Near Eastern Studies program with an emphasis in Biblical Hebrew and quite literally spends most of her time diving into the Old Testament. Whitney can confidently say that choosing this field of study is one of the best decisions she has ever made because her relationship with the Savior has fundamentally changed for the better.
Erik grew up in Idaho and served in the Belgium / Netherlands mission. He is currently a student of Biblical Hebrew at BYU who loves Jesus Christ.
Haidee Armstrong is a daughter of the covenant. She served a mission in Pocatello, Idaho and a service mission in Denver, Colorado. She is a BYU graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering. During her time at BYU she became a research assistant for Dr. Donald Parry studying Biblical Hebrew. She loves all things pertaining to the gospel as well as Legos, The Lord of the Rings, country swing dancing, and hiking. In fact, she is often known to combine her love of Legos and hiking by doing Lego photography on the mountaintops. Firm in her faith, she believes that the Lord is good at ruining expectations, but is even better at making the outcome greater than imaginable.
Joshua M. Sears received a BA from Brigham Young University, an MA from The Ohio State University, and a PhD in Hebrew Bible at The University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include Israelite prophecy, marriage and families in the ancient world, and the publication history of Latter-day Saint scripture. His wife, Alice, is from Hong Kong and plays in Bells at Temple Square; they live in Lindon, Utah, with their five children.
