The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will present “From the Treasury of American Song,” under the direction of Mack Wilberg, as the closing concert of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Conference on Saturday, February 28 at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference Center. Three genealogy powerhouses join forces to publish 1940 US census

Three leading genealogy organizations, Archives.com, FamilySearch International, and findmypast.com, announced today they are joining forces to launch the 1940 US Census Community Project. The ambitious project aims to engage online volunteers to quickly publish a searchable, high quality name index to the 1940 US Census after it is released in April 2012 by the National Archives and Record Administration of the United States (NARA). The highly anticipated 1940 US Census is expected to be the most popular US record collection released to date. James Taylor, MoTab, and Utah Symphony Concert Premiere's April 6th on BYUtv

James Taylor, one of the world’s most enduring and recognizable singer-songwriters, recently teamed up for a musical gala that also featured the internationally renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the critically acclaimed Utah Symphony. This unique concert, performed in September 2013 and made possible by the O. C. Tanner Gift of Music, will premiere Sunday, April 6, on BYUtv, at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. (MDT), with live streaming available at www.byutv.org.

Win a chance to conduct the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

The winner of the Conduct the Choir Facebook Contest will get a chance to stand at the front of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during one of its rehearsals. To enter the contest, go to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MormonTabernacleChoir, click on the Choir Video Contest tab and download the audio clip of "Ode to Joy" from the choir's latest album, "Glory!" Then record a 30- to 60-second video conducting the choir. Then enter the competition by posting it on YouTube and following the other entry guidelines posted on the contest page. The deadline is May 25.
