Only 10 of the 123 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the country have allowed more sacks per game than BYU midway through the 2013 season. Despite having a young and inexperienced offensive line that has been plagued by injuries, the Cougars were about average in that category until giving up eight sacks in Saturday’s 47-46 win over Houston. They now are giving up 3.14 sacks per game, which is tied for 110th, and 6.29 tackles for loss per game.

Music CDs are out and download cards are in as the LDS Church’s Especially For Youth (EFY) program is taking a big technological leap forward. When 50,000 EFY participants around the world want to enjoy their favorite songs from the 2012 EFY experience, they will use a special code on a download card, head to an EFY web site, and transfer the music to their preferred listening device. No more CDs.

Two years later, the Utah State Aggies still say they never tried to steal BYU from the Mountain West. Which is a good thing, considering USU is soon to become a member of that same conference. USU athletics director Scott Barnes said on Friday there remains a misconception of his role in BYU's near-move to the WAC in every sport except football. Furthermore, he said Utah State didn't received an offer to join the Mountain West at that time.
