When the angel Moroni first visited Joseph Smith in 1823, he said that Joseph’s name would be known for good and evil throughout the world. Moroni’s statement has never been more true than in the present. Around the globe, millions of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints testify that Joseph was a prophet of God who restored Christ’s Church. As we write this in April 2020, the Church just completed a general conference that celebrated the Restoration. During this conference, the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles released a “Bicentennial Proclamation to the World” that shared their solemn witness of Joseph’s role in the “restoration of the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
What a great example of strength and resilience. Four years after becoming paralyzed, Brittany Fisher said, "I definitely have seen in these four years, more with that eternal perspective, the things I have learned, the lessons I’ve had to learn in a very painful, long and slow process. I’m grateful for what I’ve learned, not necessarily grateful for how I’ve learned it, but I don’t know how else I could’ve learned it this intensely or fully without going through what I’ve gone through."

Melanie Thomas Bullock hails from the upbeat city of Orem, Utah and “can cook an egg on the sidewalk” Marana, Arizona. She spent some time in Maine where she met her hilarious and raucous husband Brent, who passed away suddenly 6 years ago. She has 3 amazingly fabulous daughters that bring joy to her soul. Because she has impeccable timing, she decided to enter the medical field a few short weeks before a worldwide pandemic. Melanie doesn’t do anything “easy.” She’s currently remodeling her home along with her 9-year-old daughter who loves swinging a sledgehammer, watching plumbing videos and laying floors. Melanie loves Del Taco, Jesus and Diet Coke. She also loves vacationing anywhere exotic (or wherever her budget takes her).
In preparation for the Easter Season we are spending this episode learning about the Atonement of Christ. Elder Cook said in this weekend’s General Conference that “The Atonement of Jesus Christ provides the ultimate rescue from the trials we face in life.” And doesn’t that sound like the kind of saving we all need.
