The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced on June 28, 2018, that it will be creating a revised Hymns andChildren’s Songbook to be used in worship services. Members from around the world can participate in the revision process by submitting hymns to newmusic.lds.org.

You already know the fairy tale. Though you’ve probably heard several different versions over the years, the core elements remain the same: "Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful princess."

The answers to our prayers are not always as concrete as we might have hoped. Sometimes we receive an answer but have no idea how to move forward. Or sometimes we have a feeling to do something but we don't know why. When situations like these arise, it can be tempting to give in to discouragement. But these are the moments we need to act. In his book When Heaven Feels Distant, LDS author Tyler Griffin shows how we can move forward when we feel like the answers to our prayers are incomplete instructions.

Ramadan Mubarak! For our Muslim friends and neighbors around the world, April 23 through May 23 is the holy month of Ramadan. Serving on the board of directors for the Interfaith Leadership Council of Metro Detroit and in my capacity as public affairs director for the Church in my stake, I have had some incredible opportunities to explore the rich religious landscape of my diverse community. One of my favorite experiences has been celebrating Ramadan with my wonderful Muslim friends and neighbors.

Like birth, death is a necessary and essential part of the plan of salvation (see Moses 6:59–62)—which Jacob and Alma both called the “great plan of happiness” (2 Nephi 9:6; Alma 42:8). Facing death can be one of the most fearful experiences of mortality. For the righteous, though, death can be sweet and need not be feared (see Alma 27:28). Indeed, the Lord revealed to Joseph Smith that “those that die in me shall not taste of death, for it shall be sweet unto them” (Doctrine and Covenants 42:46). On the other hand, for people who die not in Christ, death can be a bitter experience (see Doctrine and Covenants 42:47), and the thought of an approaching death can create foreboding, trepidation, and fear. Dreams regarding death can serve as a powerful reminder that this life is the time for us to prepare to meet God (see Alma 12:24; 34:32). . . .

Recently, I had the blessed privilege to speak live and in person to the amazing women of the Prosper Texas Stake. When invited to teach such groups, my role is to impart positive, uplifting gospel truths to calm the hearts and fill the cups of those who attend. When I walked in the chapel that day, I had no idea that my emotional and spiritual cup would be filled as well.

Not all faith questions need constitute a “faith crisis.” We need not be afraid of our questions, but can journey with them as we seek to address them with honest intent.

Concerns about faith can be very painful, at times rocking the core of one’s belief system. Anxiety can further complicate one’s emotional landscape and add panic and desperation to the faith journey, creating a “faith crisis.”
