Social Posts From the First Presidency, Twelve Apostles, and More to Celebrate Christ's Birth

With Christmas just around the corner, the General Authorities and the general officers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have shared uplifting messages focusing on the reason for the season through social media.

On the morning of Christmas Eve, President Nelson invited people to draw closer to the Savior and testified that Christ's mortal life was "the beginning of eternal hope and happiness for each of us."

President Russell M. Nelson posted a video with 7-year-old singer, Claire Crosby. In the post, President Nelson testified of the power music has to bring the Christmas spirit.  

After his remarks at the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional, President Dallin H. Oaks, first counselor in the First Presidency, shared how the Savior is the "Prince of Peace." 

 

 

President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, wrote about his experience creating a family treasure box for his wife and how that gift reflects his gratitude for eternal marriage, which is made possible by the Savior. 

President M. Russell Ballard, Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, addressed how Christmas is a time to reflect on the Savior's atoning sacrifice. 

 

Sharing that he gets giddy about the giving and receiving of presents, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles wrote about his thoughts on the gift of the Savior. 

 

In conjunction with the Light the World initiative, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles discussed how the Christmas season provides us with the opportunity to reflect on and share our feelings of the Savior. 

 

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles focused on the lights that decorate the season and how the light of Christ can bless us. 

 

Noting the busyness of the Christmas season, Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles suggested four waysto focus on the Savior. 

 

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared a post about how the Savior stands ready to help. 

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles talked about howthe shepherds worshipped the Savior and asked how we will choose to worship the Savior. 

 

When we feel uncertainty, loneliness, doubt or fear, Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles recommended remembering the Savior

In his post on Facebook, Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles wrote about how visiting otherscan make the Christmas season better. 

 

 

Sister Jean B. Bingham, Relief Society General President, shared the Nativity video "The Christ Child," and bore witness of why Christ was born. 

Sister Reyna I. Aburto, second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency, shared a post about how she lost her brother two days before Christmas. She testified of how Christ's birth can help us through tragedy.

Also sharing "The Christ Child" video, Sister Bonnie H. Cordon, Young Women General President, explained the new insights she gained from watching the nativity film.

 

Sister Michelle D. Craig, first counselor in the Young Women general presidency, shared a photo of her new grandchild and shared how holding her grandchild allowed her to reflect on the miracle of Jesus Christ.

 

 

Also talking about a grandchild, Sister Becky Craven, second counselor in the Young Women general presidency, wrote about how her granddaughter's Young Women class helped her feel at home while she spent Christmas away from home. 

Sister Joy D. Jones, Primary General President, posted about how the Savior is "the gift that never stops giving."

Sister Cristina B. Franco, second counselor in the Primary general presidency, wrote about the way the Savior gives us lasting joy.
