Jesus explained to his disciples what their future moment and interview will be like after their life in this world is complete. In Matthew 25:34, he explains that a king will say unto them on his right hand, "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

And then the king explained why they inherited such goodness. It was because of all the help that they gave to him when he was hungry, thirsty, unhoused, naked, sick, and afflicted. But the righteous asked, "Wait, when were you so afflicted? We don't remember seeing you like this." And then the king said, "In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Are you thinking, "Wow, that's a warm welcome from the king. Sign me up. So what do I have to do?" Well, Elder Eyring said, quote, "By keeping a commandment so simple that a child can understand it, it is a commandment with a wonderful promise for those in need and for us." Unquote. That's how easy it is. And today's discussion of Isaiah chapters 58 through 66 contains this commandment.

Welcome to the Sunday on Monday Study Group, a Deseret Bookshelf Plus original, brought to you by LDS Living, where we take the Come, Follow Me lesson for the week and we really dig into the scriptures together. I'm your host, Tammy Uzelac Hall. Now, if you're new to our study group, follow the link in our description.

It's going to explain how you can best use this podcast to enhance your Come, Follow Me study, just like my longtime listening friend Michelle M. Musgrave. Michelle, loved meeting you. Thank you for saying hello to me. Now, here's the best thing about our study group, is each week we're joined by two of my friends.

Sometimes we're just joined by one. And this week I have one friend, and just one friend. I love that I even get to claim this person as my friend. I am so excited to introduce you to Dr. Donald W. Parry. Hello, Don. Hi, Tammy. So good to be here. Oh, this is gonna be so fun. And in preparation for this, I said to Don, "Listen, you don't even have to do much work because you already did it."

Here's a fun fact about Don and I. We host a podcast together on YouTube. Don, what's the name of our podcast? Tell our listeners. Jesus Christ in Scripture. And we prefer that title, uh, versus our names, Tammy and Don. Uh, we, we want to really focus on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Absolutely. Yeah. Could you imagine, The Don Tammy Show?

It is not that at all. No. It is so fun, though. If you go to YouTube and you just type in Jesus Christ in Scripture, we, we basically do kind of what we're doing today, but it's where you're, you get to see our faces. Isn't that so fun? And, and let me tell the, your audience, Tammy is absolutely brilliant. Oh.

She is so brilliant and she delightful, and she has this voice that Everyone in the world wants and wants a voice like Tammy, including professional speakers and- Oh, Don ... wow, yeah. Well, I... This is a fun story because Don came to my Education Week lesson, one of them that I gave, and I was getting ready, and I'm in this auditorium that was already pretty hot.

Like, the air conditioning, they said to me, wasn't working very well. And so I'm sweating, and then Don walks up and, and I was like, "What are you doing here?" And I said, "Don, you can't stay here. I might get sick. I'm gonna throw up." And- ... Don was like, "I don't want you to do that." And I was like, "You're making me so nervous.

Now I'm sweating even more." But I really, I appreciated that you came. And- That was so nice ... and, and Tammy had complete control of that room. Oh. She owned the room. It was fun. She owned the stage. She moved about. She's enthusiastic. She was funny. She is spiritual. Oh. I loved that privilege of- Funny ... visiting that.

Well, you know what I've learned from you? It's, it's easy to command a room when you're talking about Jesus. Mm-hmm. That's, that's the only way. And so I've been to many of your talks, many of your lessons at Education Week, and I just get such a kick out of it that I know you, and then I watch everybody around interacting with you and listening and taking notes.

Like, it's... it is a treasure to me. So this is gonna be fun. We're gonna have a great discussion today. So for everyone listening, if you wanna know more about Don, go check out our show notes, which are at ldsliving.com/sundayonmonday. That's where we'll have his bio. We'll also have a link to the Jesus Christ in Scripture podcast if you wanna check that out.

It's super fun. So everyone grab your scriptures and something to mark them with. And I'm serious. I know I always say something to mark them with, but for reals, you're gonna need something to mark them with. And I would suggest pausing it right now and finding two colors. You're gonna want two colors for what we're gonna do next, and we are gonna dig into Isaiah 58 through 66.

All right, here we go. First thing first, Don, I always ask this question. As you were preparing for this and just kind of thinking about what we were gonna talk today, what did the Holy Ghost teach you? Did anything kind of spark? Yes, absolutely. Uh, eh, uh, this is it. When, when I read Isaiah, I know it's the word of the Lord.

Mm. How do you know? Uh, uh, the witness just says, "This is the word of the Lord. Pay attention." Mm-hmm. I think that's wonderful. I would agree with you. H- how about you? I would say yes, it is the word of Lord, and in fact, the way that you have taught me Isaiah 58 truly points out the word of the Lord. That's what I thought- Mm-hmm

was so powerful. I went into my scriptures, and I marked it up the way that we discussed it- Mm-hmm ... on our podcast together, and it just made Isaiah 58 come alive. Because as many people know, and when they hear Isaiah, they just kind of a little bit of dread, like, "Oh, it's so hard to understand." But- Mm-hmm

the thing that I love about you is you make it easy to understand, and so I think that's what my experience was, going through Isaiah 58 with two colors, and we're gonna talk about that next. But those two colors helped Isaiah 58 make sense. So it's really, it is the word of the Lord. Absolutely. And I felt like when I was doing that, I could find myself in section 58.

I could see myself saying the things the Israelites say. I love the idea that the Lord's speaking to me about the proper way to fast, and then all the blessings that come from fasting. Yes. And then, and then he's like, "Oh, by the way, and keep my Sabbath day holy." I mean, it was just a great way to study this.

So yeah, it is the word of the Lord to every single one of us, so thank you for pointing that out. So let's do this then. I hope you have your two colors now, and in the next segment, we are going to dive into what Elder Eyring called a commandment so simple that a child can understand it. We'll do that next.

Segment 2
---

Okay, everybody, I hope you have your two colors. Let's get into Isaiah, chapter 58. And here's something that I love, and, and I talked about this in the last segment. One of the things that Don does with his teaching style, Don, I love that you identify voices. Mm. And you, you are so consistent with this as we have studied the Old Testament this year.

You always point out, here's the Lord speaking, and here's who He's speaking to, and here's what the Israelites are saying, or in other words, what we might be saying. And in fact, I have something to announce. Don doesn't even know I'm gonna do this, but he has a new book out. It's called A New Translation of Isaiah Based on Ancient Scrolls and Texts.

Now, before that overwhelms you, let me tell you right now, this book is so good because what he, one of the things he has done in the book is he goes through Isaiah, and he points out, "Here's the Lord speaking, and here's the Israelites speaking." So we're gonna do that in Isaiah, chapter 58. And Don's gonna take us through this and show us, here's what the Lord's saying.

And so what I did is I got two colors. I have a color for when the Lord is speaking to us, and then I have a color for when the Israelites are speaking, and I've highlighted that in my scriptures in Isaiah 58. So make sure you do that. And Don, take us through Isaiah 58, and we're just gonna actually do the first couple of verses as we're talking about what the Lord has to say to the Israelites about fasting.

Are you ready to do this? I am ready, yes. Okay. Hit it, Don. The, the, the, let me just say that Isaiah 58 is the greatest scriptural text about the law of the fast. Mm-hmm. Uh, it's astounding. So all right, so, uh, 58 verse one, the Lord is speaking to Isaiah, so there's a dialogue. Isaiah 58 is a dialogue between the Lord and His covenant people, and I like the idea of having two different colors.

I think that really helps. So verse one, uh, I'm just going to give you my translation. The Lord says to Isaiah, "Cry aloud, spare not." "Lift up your voice like a ram's horn." So in other words, make it loud and clear like a ram's horn, uh, but, and don't spare. Don't hesitate. Israel needs to hear this. "And tell my people their transgression, the house of Jacob their sin."

Now, these are parallelisms, by the way. Mm-hmm. Verse two, I'll do verse two and then pause- Okay ... and see. But verse two starts, uh, like this. In the Hebrew it says, "And Me," capital M, God, "And Me they seek daily." Now, I don't remember how other translations do it, but, but I follow the Hebrew, putting Me at first.

Jehovah says this, "And Me," so He's putting Me first. "They seek daily and delight to know my ways as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake their God's justice. They ask Me for righteous judgments, they delight to approach God." So that's the Lord to Isaiah. That's the first part of the dialogue Okay.

And one of the things I want to point out, and we've talked about this on the podcast before, but if some of you thought, "Wait, why is trumpet a ram's horn?" That's a really good thing to know, because when he's saying a trumpet, in Old Testament times, they would actually blow a ram's horn. Yes. Not the kind of trumpet you think of with a symphony.

Is that correct? That's correct, yes. Okay. And it's called a shofar in Hebrew. Yes, it is. And, um, and we, on our podcast, we actually had a... You had a young boy from your ward- Yes, yeah ... who can blow the shofar. Right. It was amazing, 'cause it's... You've said, I've never tried this, but you have tried, and it's so hard to do.

I can't blow... I, I can't make a sound come out of it. Yeah. It, it- Super tricky ... it's super tricky. And, and yet, this, this teenage boy did it so perfectly. Mm-hmm. It was fun. You've, if, if... And if anyone wants to know what it sounds like, you can go to YouTube, and you can find our episode, or I've actually just gone to YouTube and typed in shofar.

It's S-H-O-F-A-R. And you can hear people blowing the shofar and hear what it sounds like, and it is so loud. Yes. And so when I read this, I'm like, "Oh, don't even spare. Like, get your voice like a shofar." In fact, I think, Don, they blow the shofar to announce high holy days- Yes, they do ... celebrations. Yes. Like, it's a cry to the people, like something important's about to happen.

So this kind of teaches me that maybe what the Lord's saying is, there is a commandment, something important is about to happen. I am gonna tell you there's something you need to know. That's right. Oh, this is cool. Okay. So I've highlighted verses one and two in red. Now I'm gonna get my new color. Yes.

'Cause now we have a new speaker in the dialogue. Yes. So it's verse th- Mm ... verse three is the God's, it's God's covenant people responding to the Lord. Okay. And th- they say, "Why have we fasted when you, the Lord, did not see it? Why have we afflicted our soul when you did not know it?" So that's, that's the dialogue.

So the Lord, and then God's covenant people, and then the second half of verse three, it's the Lord again. Okay. And what they're basically saying, and I wonder how many times we have fought this, like, "We're fasting. We're doing what you asked, and nothing's working." Yes. Yes. So they're coming back at him, like, "Why did we even fast?"

Right. "And you don't even notice." Well said. Okay. Wow. So now let's see what the Lord has to say back to that response. Okay, so get your red color out, and here we go in verse three. So the Lord is first gonna say, "This is the wrong way to fast." And then he's gonna tell them the correct way to fast. So he's saying you've been doing it wrong this whole time?

Yes. Okay. You've been doing it wrong. "Behold, in the day of your fast you found pleasure." So that's a notable item. Uh, whatever that means to each person, and let the Holy Spirit guide you- Mm-hmm ... i- is you don't find pleasure. And that, that'll mean different things to different people. "And you oppress all your workers."

Wow. "Be- behold, you fast to quarrel and to fight." See, this is the wrong way. "And to smite with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as such on this day, to make your voice heard on high. Is that the sort of fast that I chose- choose? Is it a day for a human to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes?"

Probably in front of everyone and make a big show, I'm fasting, look at me, and my head is down. Mm-hmm. "Will you ca- call this fast an acceptable day to the Lord?" So, so that's the wrong way to fast. Yeah. And the Lord's still speaking. He, next He's going to speak about the correct way to fast. Okay. I just have to say this.

Yes. I love at the end of verse three where it says, and I love how you've translated that, where it says, "And exact all your labors." Your translation is so much better. You oppress your laborers. Mm-hmm. Now, that makes more sense. Yeah. So that was a great translation of that. Thank you. Okay, so- Thank you

very good, and I, as I'm reading verses four and five, I'm like, "Oh yeah, that's been me." I, you bet. There's times when I was younger and I would let everyone know I was fasting. Yeah, me too. And you can for sure bet my kids let me know, 'cause- Yes ... when we get home from church, it's an immediate, "I'm so hungry," and I'm like- Yeah.

"I know. I know." I know. So, and I get it that kids do that, and I, I love this call to us as adults, like hang in there. Just think about how you're fasting. Cheer up, Charlie, whatever you want to say. So be happy, and then we have verses six and seven, because now the Lord's gonna say, "Here's the proper way to fast."

Yes. Now, this is a big deal. Teach us the proper way to fast, Don- Okay ... according to the Lord. A- and notice not only does the Lord teach us through dialogue- Mm-hmm ... so where He speaks and, and Israel responds, and He speaks, and Israel responds, but He teaches through questions. So we've, we've seen, already seen four or five questions.

Now He's gonna ask one, two, three more questions. So verse six, let me get my glasses, verse six, uh, "Is this not the fast that I choose?" So now He's going to give the proper way to fast, "To open the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?" Do you see all these questions?

Mm-hmm. Verse seven, "Is it not sharing your bread with the hungry, bringing the homeless poor into your house? When you see the naked, covering him? And from your own flesh, you will not hide yourself?" So th- those are all keys. You, we could, if we had time, we could break it down, I don't think we have a lot of time- Mm-mm

and just say, what does that mean to open the bonds of wickedness and to undo the straps of yo- of the yoke? It means to repent. Hmm. On the day of the fast- Like that ... that's also a day of, of repentance. But it's also to sh- share our substance, bread, and, a- and coverings and so on with the poor- Mm-hmm ... and so on.

Wow. So this is really powerful because I'm going back to the quote that I used from Elder Eyring, where he said, "The law of the fast is so simple that even- Yes ... a child could understand it and do it." I love it. I love that quote. I love that too, because then you go back into verse six and seven, and the proper way to do that is to repent, and then to share your bread and your clothes, all of that.

And, and maybe on Fast Sunday you're not necessarily taking your bread out to people, but we love that we have it worked in, where then you offer your fast offering. Yes, yes. And that's where it... That's how it works. That's how the Lord takes care of His people through the law of the fast- Well said ... so that when the Savior comes again, He can say, "Thank you for feeding me," i.e.

all my people. So this is... It really is... I, and I think that astounds me. It's the easiest thing to do that even a child could do it. Doesn't mean it's always happy at the house when a child tries to do it. Do you ever, did you ever try to get your kids to fast? How was that for you? It, it, it was, uh, w- we, we did it gently.

Mm-hmm. And we let them decide. Oh, wow. Uh, uh, sort of. We'd say, "Well, okay, you're eight years old. You're baptized. Uh, why don't you just try it and, and maybe one meal to start with?" Oh, I like that. It is hard. I remember our father was a bishop back when we were kids. Mm-hmm. And we were just starving to death, and we were gonna die.

Yes. And, and he, he brought the sacrament bread to the ward for sacrament on, on e- every Sunday, but on Fast Sunday, on the way home, we got permission when we were younger to, uh, uh, there was extra bread, maybe a half a loaf of bread. "Oh, can we please have a loaf of bread? We don't know if we can make it till dinner."

A- and Mom, Mom and Dad say yes, and it was just so good. Just a slice of bread. And we'd eat it carefully and instead of just gobble it down like normal little boys. And so yeah, it's, it's difficult but, but we teach the children line up online and- Mm-hmm ... rather than, "Oh, you have to fast now, and it has to be 24 hours."

Yeah. Oh, I think that's a great story. Thank you, Don. Okay, so there we are in Isaiah. We have this great conversation with the Lord and the Israelites, and He just taught us the proper way to fast. So in the next segment then, we get to find out what the blessings are that come from a proper fast. We'll do that next.

Segment 3
---

Going back to that talk by Elder Eyring, in fact, the title of the talk is, Is Not This the Fast That I Have Chosen? So you go and look that up. It's a great quote. He gave this awesome talk, and he specifically uses Isaiah 58 in his talk, specifically talking about the blessings that come from the fast.

And here's what he says: "I pray that we will claim those great blessings for ourselves and for our families. I bear my witness that Jesus is the Christ, that in His Church we are invited to help Him as He cares for the poor in His way, and that He promises everlasting blessings will come from our helping Him."

And that is- Mm ... the whole point of this. Mm-hmm. And so here in Isaiah, and I love that you've done this, you have marked all the blessings that come from the fast. Yes. So we're just gonna talk about the first five, and in the next segment we'll finish the blessings, 'cause we, we just, there's so many. But Don, take us through the blessings of the fast.

The, the, the blessings begin in verse eight. Okay. They are so profound, Sister Hall. Mm. They're just extraordinary. So verse eight, "Then will your light break forth like the dawn." So that's a blessing right there. You'll have so much light, light from God, the light of Christ, and, and the light of the Holy Ghost.

You'll have so much light, it'll break forth and the world will see it like the, the light coming at the break of dawn. Mm. What a... That right there, just that blessing- Yeah ... alone. Yes. More light. Yeah. Wow. More light. Okay. "And your healing will speedily sprout up." And, and you say, "Is this physical healing when I'm sick?"

Maybe, maybe not. Mm-hmm. Because sometimes the Lord allows us to get sick and then we pass away. Yeah. Uh, so this might have an eternal... This might be an eternal blessing about the, the resurrection. Mm-hmm. I don't know. "Your righteousness," I'm still in verse eight, "will go before you. The glory of the Lord will be your rear gu- guard."

Now here- Mm ... uh, it's a, it's a military, a slight military image, and the image is, uh, as you move forward in mortality, your righteousness will protect you in front of you, but God's glory will protect, uh, your rear guard. He'll be like a soldier, and He'll be watching behind you. This has many applications.

Yeah. I think it, it deals also with protection from the, the dark side. Oh, I agree. I love that you just redefined the word rearward to rear guard. Yeah. Yes. And then I just wrote in my scriptures the idea that He has your back. Yes. 'Cause that's almost what you would say in a military to someone, like, "I need you to have my back."

And the Lord's like, "Oh, I do, 'cause you fast." Yes. Yep. But I love how you said your righteousness will go before you as a protection. Now that's powerful. So you're protected on all sides by fasting. Yes. That's pretty cool. Okay. It's really cool. Verse nine, "Then you will call," call to the Lord, prayer, or, uh, an emergency.

"Help, I'm drowning," or, "Help, I need your help," or, or a wayward child or something. "Then you will call and the Lord will answer. Then you will cry for help and He will say, 'Here I am.'" And, and the thing here, uh, s- it's, it's a s- what an astounding blessing. If you research the word here I am, and remember I have that on my wedding band- Yeah

from Isaiah 6. If you research that, it's always one of the Lord's servants calling out to the Lord. So the Lord will say, "Samuel, Samuel," and he'll say, "Here I am." Mm-hmm. Or to other of the servants, and it's, it's the servant saying, "Here I am." But here in Isaiah 58, it's a reversal. Instead of a servant saying to the Lord, "Here I am, oh Lord," now it's the Lord responding to us.

Wow. I mean, it's astounding for Him- Yeah ... to say to us when we, when we pray and call for help because we're, we're fasting or because we have fasted, uh, as appropriate, then He says, "Here I, I am." Oh, Don, I love how you've just described that because I'm just picturing me on my Sabbath when I'm fasting, and, and I pray throughout the day about what I'm fasting for.

But one of the things I do is right before I break my fast, I just try to go somewhere by myself to say a silent little prayer before I break it. And, and I'm just picturing me crying to the Lord, calling out to the Lord with what I need, and just this, Him saying, "I'm r- here I am. Yep." Yes. "I heard your prayer.

I know what you've been fasting about, and I'm taking care of you." Wow That was so well said. And I, I too- Powerful ... when, when I break my fast, I have a certain place in my house that's private- Me too. Mm-hmm ... and I can just, just open up to the Lord and, and Heavenly Father, I fasted for this purpose or these two purposes, and on my knees before I break my fast.

Wow. Thank you, Don. So there's a little break in between the blessings of the fast. Yes. We have an if and then statement. So I've circled the ifs in the, in verse 9. Halfway through, there's an if. There's another if in verse 10 in the King James Version, and then circle the then. There's a then right there.

So we have these ifs. Now, I have the New International Version of how the if is translated, 'cause I really like that better, but I, I would also know to, love to know how you've translated it. So the NIV says, "If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then..."

And then we're gonna get more blessings. Yes. How do you translate those words? So I also do the if and then. Mm-hmm. A- a- and, and we have two ifs. A- and that actually, there's a term. It's, it's a 50 cent word. Okay. Uh, there's the protasis and the apodosis. Wow. So maybe you wanna cut this out. I don't know. But- No, I'm keeping it, but I love that

the if and the then. Mm-hmm. So here's how I have it. So we're in 9B. We're in the middle of verse 9, and then we'll look at verse 10. "If you remove the yoke from among, among you, the pointing finger and speaking wickedness, if you pour out your soul for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted," and then here's the then.

Mm-hmm. And then it, it'll go into more of the blessings. More blessings. Okay. So mark your if and then because we love an if and then statement- Yes ... in scriptures- We do ... 'cause it's the Lord, it's a promise from the Lord. If you do this, then I will do this. So there's your if and then. And any- anything you wanna say about those words right there, the pointing finger, the malicious talk?

He's basically saying, like, "If you'll just do away with all that wickedness and help my people, here's more..." B- I mean, it really kind of, ugh, hits to the heart of a lot of us, like the malicious talk, the pointing finger. Yes, yes. It's, it's the world we live in today. It is social media, like, aplenty, which I know, Don, you, you, you, you have a huge Instagram account, don't you?

No. Don't, don't. You're like, "What is that?" No. So, but it's a great call for all of us. Like, just do away with the pointing finger. Do away with malicious talk. If you can spend all of your time and money or the fast offering to help the hungry satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then I'm gonna bless you with more blessings.

So in the next segment, we're gonna find out what the rest of the blessings of the fast are.

Segment 4
---

So the Lord isn't done blessing. There are more blessings of the fast. So we are still in Isaiah chapter 58, and we are now beginning with the m- kind of the end of verse 10, where the word then is. We're gonna finish the then statement. So if you will fast and if you will do away from a pointing finger, a malicious talk, and help people, then, Don, get us into the rest of the blessings of the fast.

Okay. So then your light in the dark will rise as the sun And you have to think about that for just a minute. So, uh, let's read the second half of that parallelism. "And your darkness will be as the noonday." So what's that mean? How much light will your soul have? Your, your soul will be light as the noonday.

There will be no darkness. And when the Lord says, "And your darkness will be as the noonday," well, the noonday there's no darkness. Right. None. Huge blessing. Wow. Read to me again how you said thy light rise in obscurity. Then your light in the dark will rise as the sun- Okay ... and your darkness will be as the noonday.

Wow, very cool. I love that translation. And verse 11, and we're contin- uh, more blessings. More. "And the Lord will guide you continually." And the word here guide is, uh, uh, I, I love this translation. I don't know how the other translators chose it, but, but, uh, the Lord's gonna be our guide. Mm-hmm. He's gonna guide us wherever we go continually.

It's not like tomorrow, or it's not like at noon, or, or five minutes a day. He will guide us continually. "And satisfy your soul while in scorched places." There's a lot of symbolism here. Mm-hmm. "And make your bones strong. You will be like..." These are all blessings. "You will be like a watered garden, like a source of water whose waters do not fail.

And some of you," verse, verse 12, "Some of you will rebuild ancient ruins." And this, this, uh, you have to read the second part. Does that mean they're going to go out and restore old castles or old homes? No, keep reading. "You will raise up the foundations of many generations." So ancient ruins may be families that are broken, uh, and families that have been broken for a generation or two.

Uh, when you fast, y- you're gonna have the blessing of repairing the generations. And there's, there's one more. Uh, you will be called, and then what I'm gonna read, you have to put these in capital letters as proper names and in quotes. Okay. "You will be called," so this is a title for you, "the Repairer of the Broken Walls."

That's one title. "The Restorer of Paths to Dwell in." So if that doesn't make sense, you might say, "Miss, you'll be called Miss, the Repairer of the Broken Walls, or Miss, Misses or Mister, and then, uh, the Restorer of Paths to Dwell in." I want everyone to know these are titles. That's powerful Who's that person?

That's the repairer of broken walls. That person, that Tammy Hall is the, the restorer of paths to dwell in. She's famous. Give her a standing ovation. Things like that. Yeah. And I think this is important because one of the things you just earlier said was, does it mean you're gonna go and actually build things?

Because if we're talking about the world we live in today, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm gonna go and rebuild a temple or repair walls, and I love how you said it has a lot to do with families and generations. Yes. Yes, yes. And I'm thinking even to the promise of Malachi, and all the genealogy work that we do.

I almost think you could call so many of the youth today the restorer of paths to dwell in and the repairers of breaches, because they are- I love that ... so involved in temple work, right? Yes. I love that. I hope they, I hope the youth hear what you just said. Yeah. Wow. When you think we have so many temples today that are having two baptismal fonts built in them, the Syracuse Utah Temple has two fonts because there, we just don't have enough room for all the kids coming to do genealogy.

Because they're repairing the breaches. Yes. They're restoring the paths for their ancestors to dwell in. Those are cool titles, Don. I love these titles. Wow. Yes. Okay. So sum up for me really quickly, though, verses, just verse, verse 11 because it's just so beautifully written. It's very poetic. But how would you say this to satisfy the soul in, and you put destitute places, to make fat your bones?

I mean, what, what happens when you're not really healthy? I think this deals with both health in mortality according to the w- Lord's will. Okay. But also, I, I think it's a reference to the resurrection, the promise- Mm ... the resurrection. Remember, that is a huge and wondrous blessing that comes through Jesus Christ and his atonement.

Mm-hmm. S- and we have similar promises of the resurrection in our temples. Wow. So a lot of people read this and say, "Oh, this is temporal. This is mortality." A lot of these blessings can be mortality, but also eternally. Absolutely. Oh, I think you're so right. You know, when I was preparing for this and thinking about it, one of the questions that I asked us to think of was an experience with fasting from both of our lives.

And the one that came to my mind is, I remember when I was a seminary teacher, Don, and it was early on, and I had a young girl that I was teaching who was just so adored by so many students. She was a delight. She was a cheerleader, but she was a nice cheerleader, just, like, the cutest little gal, and she got a really rare sickness.

Mm. She got, I think it was spinal meningitis, which they thought- Mm-hmm ... was the flu, and they... she wasn't getting better. And by the time they got her to the hospital, it was, it was almost too late. And so they hooked her up to everything, and, and it devastated the whole high school. Everybody was talking about it, and her friends were so sad.

And I remember that all of the kids in the s- who were taking seminary, who were her friends, they decided that they were gonna have a school-wide fast for anyone who was LDS. And I can remember everyone fasting. I joined the fast 'cause she was my student. And many of the students would come into the seminary building throughout the day just to talk, just to have a place where they could be, feel safe, and they were fasting, and they were so hungry.

And I can remember I was shocked by how many students fasted, and I was also surprised by kids who fasted that I thought, "I, I didn't even think you knew how to fast. Like, I... You barely come to seminary." "Look at you. You are fasting." And we all fasted, and these kids were determined to do a full 24-hour fast.

It was the most beautiful thing ever that this sweet little girl would live. And I remember at the, at the, towards the end of the fast, we got a phone call fr- I got a phone call from her father at the hospital, and he called me before he called anybody, and he said, "Madeline has passed away." Oh. And I remember how devastated I was because I was fa- obviously, we were all fasting that she would live.

Mm-hmm. And I remember hanging that phone up just so sad and also a little bit angry, like, "Heavenly Father, this could've been the fast of the century. This could've been the thing that would restore faith in every teenager- Mm-hmm ... who's taking the time to fast." And I also remember when I, right before I hung up the phone, her dad said to me, "One last thing, we would like for you to speak at her funeral."

And so then I thought, "Well, how am I gonna do that?" Wow. 'Cause I'm really angry. I thought, "There's no way I could speak when we didn't get the desired outcome- Mm-hmm ... that these kids were praying for." And so I remember then fasting again and praying that I would know what to say. And I remember looking at these verses of scripture, and I wish I had had them with the way you have translated them.

Because the thing that came to me when I was reading this is I thought, "But she didn't get better. She didn't get well. She wasn't watered like a garden, like a spring of water. Who waters fail not?" But what the Spirit taught me was she may not have been, but every one of these kids who fasted have received the blessings of the fast.

Oh, wow. And I can remember- Wow, wow ... my entire talk was listing miracle by miracle. And I said, "I know that you didn't get what you want, but I can assure you that years down the road you will look at this moment and this experience and know that God lives, and know that miracles still exist, and that He really...

that your righteousness will go before you, and He will be your rear guard, as He has throughout this whole experience." And it was the most beautiful moment. Mm. This cute girl, her name is Maddie Hales, Madeline Hales, and I will... That moment has changed my life forever. Because like we've talked about, sometimes the law of the fast doesn't give you what you want, but I do believe that the blessings of fasting will help you want what you get.

It will give you the ability- Oh, that's beautiful ... yeah, to just say, "Wow, He really does have my back." And, and when I am calling out, I believe when every one of us cried out and called out, the Lord said, "I, here I am." Mm. "I'm right here, and I'm gonna help you get through this, and it's not gonna be how you want it."

But those kids to this day are still members of the church, and now they're parents, and they're raising kids. And I just... It was the moment that they needed in their lives, but just not the way we thought. So I have such a testimony- You are- ... of fasting ... such a spiritually powerful- Oh, Don, thank you ... teacher and speaker.

Well- Wow ... that, I just think it's important for us to realize that when we fast, and what you've taught us, is know that the Lord's saying, "Here I am." And I know here's all these blessings, so they can mean so many different things if you don't get what you think you want. That's what I love about the words of Isaiah and the Lord.

So thank you, Don. Wow, those were great blessings. Spirit is so strong. Okay, so I hope everybody marked those blessings. Because here's a great thing about Isaiah 58, that in addition to blessings of the fast, in the next segment we're gonna discover more blessings that will come to us if we honor the Lord's holy day.

We'll tell you what that is next.

Segment 5
---

We are gonna start in Isaiah chapter 58, and we're going to look at verse 13. And here's what verse 13 says. And I will read it out of King James, and then I'm gonna have Don read it out of the translation. It says, "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shalt honor him, and not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words."

Now circle the word delight. Don, how do you have that translated? Uh, I'm gonna give you three titles. Okay. And my voice will try to articulate the titles when I read it. Oh, cool. Uh, also, when I say my holy day, uh, when I have pr- uh, pronouns that refer to the Lord, I put them in caps so it'll separate. And, and so if you turn away your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the sabbath delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable And you will honor it by not going your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking idly.

That's verse 13. Okay, that is good. I like that translation. And I love that we just put my in caps. Thank you. So I love that you've c- you have the word delight as it has in here. This word is really important because President Nelson uses this verse in verse 13, and specifically the word delight, when he gave a talk in May 2015 called The Sabbath is a Delight.

And then I love this idea 'cause he began his talk by talking about the Sabbath and the specific wording from this verse, and he said, "No wonder Isaiah called the Sabbath a delight." And then he gives this great talk on how do we delight in the Sabbath. But I thought this quote was really cool from President Nelson.

In that talk, he said, "Faith in God engenders a love for the Sabbath. Faith in the Sabbath engenders a love for God." Hmm. "A sacred Sabbath truly is a delight." So that gave me a lot to think about when it comes to- Wow ... how I observe my Sabbath. If I have faith in God, I will have ... It will engender a love for the Sabbath, but then faith in Sabbath will give me more of a love for God.

And I th- and I think going through these verses as it describes how do we honor his holy day, that's what we're gonna talk about. You've just read that verse 13, but Don, talk to us about this idea of how we can receive blessings from keeping the Sabbath day holy, and what the Lord wants us to do on his Sabbath.

So n- notice it has the word pleasure twice. Okay. So turn away from pleasure, and then it says not finding your own pleasure. The next thing it says, "Honor it," the Sabbath, and the word honor there, remember it's called honorable by not going your own ways. So y- you don't go your own ways on the Sabbath. You do what the Lord wants.

You, you worship and you read scriptures and you serve and you partake the sacrament and, and all the things you do on the Sabbath because it is delight. It is the holy of the Lord, and it is honorable Wow, I'm marking all of this up. And I love how you've just described that because I remember as a little kid growing up with this list of dos and don'ts, and I love that our- Mm-hmm

President Nelson is like, "We're not gonna give you a list of dos and don'ts." Yes. "We're gonna let you figure out what your Sabbath is a delight means for you individually." Thank you. Hallelujah. I think that is so- I love that. I do too, because as a mom right now, it's been really fun for us to decide as a family what does it mean to honor the Sabbath, and what does that look like for us as a family?

And I have just loved trying to make sure that my Sabbath is a delight. You'll think this is funny, Don. I had one of my very good friends who she didn't like to eat sugar, and she tried to keep her kids from eating sugar, and so except for on S- um, on Sundays. Sunday was the day that she pulled the sugar cereal out of the cupboard, and she let them have a bowl of sugared cereal so that their Sabbath was a delight.

Isn't that so funny? That's cute. Yeah. That is so cute. Everyone gets a bowl of sugared cereal before church. That's her way of making Sabb- I love that story so much. Yeah, I do too. Keep us going. Let's go to verse 14. Okay, 14 gives us, uh, the, uh, some blessings of the Sabbath. Uh, and, and the blessings, let's read them.

Okay. Uh, th- these will mean something maybe different for e- every person. "Then you will take delight in the Lord." So that's a blessing. When you keep the Sabbath, you take delight in the Lord. Mm-hmm. He's your delight. There's that word again. "And I," and it's the Lord now. He's still speaking, "I, the Lord, will make you ride upon the heights of the earth."

"And I will feed you the inheritance of Jacob, your father." And then you have this speech formula, "For the mouth of the Lord has spoken." And that speech formula kind of puts the stamp on it. This is the Lord speaking, everyone. And, and in Hebrew, the, the word for Lord there is, is Jehovah. Don, what does it mean where it says, "I will give you the heritage of Jacob thy father," or how...

You translate it a little differently. I will feed you. I will g- What does that mean, I will feed you? So I translated it, "I will feed you the inheritance of Jacob, your father." Yeah. What is that? Uh, here's what I think it means, is, is we'll receive all the blessings of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and s- uh, Sarah, and Rebecca, and Rachel.

And these blessings are purely and powerfully articulated in, in, in our temple. Mm. The blessings of the covenant of, of Abraham, the, all the promises made to Abraham. And th- uh, that's, that's one possible meaning. When it says the Lord will feed us, I mean, uh, we'll... It'll become part of us. I, I mean, I thought possibly Jacob thy father from the house of Israel, and it is the blessings that he has given them.

So I, I think... But this idea to feed you is so intimate. Like, and- Yeah, me too ... but I think what it's neat is too is how nourishing it will be for us. 'Cause when I hear feed, I think immediately of my favorite kind of food. Mm-hmm. But maybe the Lord's saying, "But what I have to feed you will fill you way more than, you know, cheese and a croissant."

So the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as set forth in the temple, I mean, there's a list of them. Mm-hmm. All blessings. But y- you remember, Sister Hall- Mm-hmm ... the blessings of, that are articulated when we are sealed? Yes. Yes. I invite everyone to return to the temple often and remember the blessings that are uttered or- Mm-hmm

articulated in the sealing ceremony. They're so powerful. That's a neat thing to put right next to that, the sealing ceremony. Tell me what this means when we talked about all those things. What does it mean when it says, "And I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth." What ex- what is that?

'Cause you read that and you're like, "Oh, you're gonna be famous and people will know you." But what are we talking about here? It, it may be when it says the heights of the earth, I don't know if this refers to temples and temple worship. Oh. Because it does tie in with the next line- Mm-hmm ... I think. "And I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth."

Uh, so that's one possibility, is all the blessings that come forth from the temple. Wow. So I, I don't think it- Okay, that's neat ... I don't think it's a chariot or ... Don, I've never considered that before, but I think you're right, the high places of the earth, because it talks about how the Lord will put, the house of the Lord will be in the mountains.

Mm-hmm. That often a mountain is referred to as a temple throughout scripture, and so I can't ... The high places, to me, are temples, absolutely. Yes, yes ... are mountains. And so I've never considered it, but now that I'm looking at verse 14, of course it's temple blessings. By keeping the Sabbath day holy. Yes.

Isn't that incredible? It's totally incredible. In fact, it's, it ... Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't keeping the Sabbath day holy the very first principle that the Lord tried to teach the Israelites when they left Egypt and they got into the wilderness? They hadn't received the Ten Commandments yet, but He's sending them manna, and He's teaching them, "Only gather enough manna for each day, except on Saturday.

Gather enough for the Sabbath also." Yes. And it was plentiful. He's trying to teach them the principle of keeping the Sabbath day holy before they'll ever receive that commandment because it's so important to Him. Because He's probably trying to say, "There are blessings. I will bless you abundantly if you will keep my holy day."

And they were probably thinking, "Well, we're just gathering double, and look at this miracle." But now I'm thinking back. I think that was teaching them, "I will bless you twof- doublefold if you will-" I love that ... "keep my Sabbath day." I love that, Tammy. You've said that so well. Wow. Well, I just think this is cool because here He is saying it again.

"I will bless you doublefold." Mm-hmm. "If you keep my Sabbath day, it will be a delight for you, but all the temple blessings will be yours." Oh, that's cool, Don. Very awesome. The Sabbath is a delight. We love it. So I'm inviting everyone who's listening, think about how your Sabbath is a delight for you. Don, I said that my friend, she likes to give her kids fat- you know, sugar cereal to make the Sunday a delight.

Yes. Uh, what's one thing you do to make your Sabbath a delight, or one thing you've done throughout your life? I love that question. That's a great question, and it's been different for me throughout my life. Mm-hmm. But one, one constant is reading the scriptures on the Sabbath. We're invited to read scriptures every day, and I try to do so.

Mm-hmm. One thing that my wife and I have done in the past is go visit a widow or two, and greet her, and love her, and, "How are you doing? And how are things going?" And I don't mean home teaching widows, I mean just widows throughout the ward. Mm-hmm. And o- occasionally, Camille and I will invite widows to our house.

Hmm. And we'll have maybe 10 widows there, and we always invite the Relief Society president to come, and the bishop, i- if they're available. Uh, so, so on the Sabbath, that's a great blessing to us, to serve the widow. Oh, I like that. That's a great way to make the Sabbath a delight. Uh, something we do in my family that I think has been fun is every Sunday when it's, the weather is permissible, we sit out on my front yard and we put a lot of extra chairs so that anybody who's passing by, we invite them to just come sit with us and chat.

Oh. Just sit a spell. Beautiful. And we just visit with our neighbors. Wow. Sometimes we have treats. Sometimes we'll have, like, so many of us in my front yard, and sometimes it's just a few of us, but it's just a great way to be together, talk about our week, share fun stories about things that have happened.

And so that has ... Because we don't do it any other day of the week. We're too busy. But I love that on Sunday evening we have time to just sit and be together as a family and, um, and others that we love in our neighborhood. What a great tradition. I wanna follow your example. Well, thank you. It's a great tradition.

And I'll follow yours. I love the idea of visiting widows. I don't have any. Oh, no, that's true. We have one in my ward recently. That's a great challenge. I'm gonna add that to my Sunday. She would love a visit. Oh, thank you, Don. Okay. So that was our discussion about the Sabbath day, and we spent the whole episode on Isaiah 58.

There's so much more we could talk about. I'm gonna encourage everybody to go and study it. But we do have one thing that's not in Isaiah 58, and we're gonna go back to how we began when I talked about when the Lord comes again, the conversation He will have with us. But while He's having that conversation with us, He might be wearing something specific.

We're gonna discuss what He might be wearing in the next segment.

Segment 6
---

Everyone turn to Isaiah chapter 63. And Don, this can be a little tricky for people, and they're like, "Is this real? Is this gonna happen?" And I'm gonna ask you a question. What will the, what will the Lord be wearing when He comes again? So i- it's, it's my understanding based upon Isaiah 63 and Revelation 19 and section 133 of the Doctrine and Covenants, that he will- Those are great cross-references, everybody.

Write that down in your scriptures. Okay, carry on ... my understanding that he will be wearing, uh, a red, red vestment. Wow. And some people say, "Oh, that's just symbolic, Brother Perry." I, I believe it is symbolic, but I also believe that it's literal. Okay. So in chapter 63, before Don dives into these verses, you're gonna use your colored pencils again because Don's gonna do what he does so well.

He's broken it down into an unnamed individual and then the Lord. That's who's speaking right here. It's a dialogue again. And so Don, I'm gonna let- I'm gonna turn it over to you now because talk to us about this. We have two colors we're gonna use, and we have a question. Is that right? Yes, and I'm going to go through six verses.

Okay. And I'm going to read my translation. Great. So first of all, an unnamed person or persons says, I'm in verse one, "Who is this who comes from Edom with dyed garments," I'm sorry, "with dyed red garments from Bozrah?" Mm-hmm. Question. "He that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength."

So someone notices the Lord and says, "Who is this?" And he's got red garments, and, and his apparel is glorious, and he's got a lot of power and is traveling. So that's the question. Now the Lord answers, "It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save." And then the, the individuals, I'm in verse two now, the in, in, unnamed individual or individuals says, "Why is your apparel red?"

Why is your clothing red? "And your garments like him that treads in the wine press?" So the, the individuals see that the Lord, the, it's Jesus Christ of course, they see that Jesus Christ has red apparel and, and, uh, it, uh, it, it's turned red because he's been tromp- uh, trampling grapes in the wine press.

Then the Lord gives a second answer. "I have trodden the wine press alone, and no one was with Me," capital M, "from My people. I did tread upon them in My anger and trampled them in My fury. And their lifeblood," notice that, my, my translation there, "and their lifeblood spattered on My garments. And I have stained all My apparel- Four, "The day of vengeance was in my heart," I'm in verse four, "and the year of my redeemed has come."

And before I read verses five and six, I want to point out here the day of, of God's vengeance versus the year of my redeemed. But His vengeance is just a little moment, and His redemption is all year long Verse five, "I looked, but there was no one to help. I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold. So my arm brought salvation to me, and my wrath upheld me.

I trampled down peoples in my anger. I made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth." I hope this isn't too graphic. No. Okay We need you to explain this to us. Okay, so that- that's, that's the, that's the dialogue. Okay. With questions and answers. So go in here and explain this to us for people who don't understand or have never seen it.

When it says, "I have trodden the winepress alone," okay, what is a winepress? Okay, a winepress is where harvesters or farmers place the picked, ripe grapes, and they put this, them in this big container. And then often, several people will, uh, go into that container with their, uh, n- no sandals or shoes or, or socks or anything, so nothing on their feet.

And with their bare feet, they will trample the grapes and, and then the, the grape juice will pour down into a container. Mm-hmm. And they'll put them in containers. The farmers and the har- harvesters will put them in containers, and it's a time of great joy. For, for that, you have to go to Isaiah 9:3-6 or 3-7.

It's a time of joy because now you have, uh, the harvest. You're celebrating and singing, and there's a lot of joy. But here it's a little different. Here it's the Lord saying, "The very, very wicked of the earth, uh, I, it's like I've trodden them and, uh, as if they're grapes." Mm-hmm. "And I did it in my anger," his, his righteous indignation.

"And when I did it, it spattered their lifeblood upon my garments and made them red." And, and so but remember, these are the most wicked, wicked people a- and it's not the righteous. And I'm glad that you pointed that out because you read this, and it makes you feel so scared and afraid, like Jesus is a scary person here.

But you've said it's because it's wicked people, and by that you mean people who have no desire to repent, who won't repent, who haven't repented. Yes. This is not talking about those of us who are trying, who are getting on our knees, who are working towa- who are facing towards the Lord. So, and how fascinating that He's like, "I did it alone," because you said it's a joyful time where people do it together, and you- Yes From my understanding, you rarely do it alone, 'cause it's such hard work.

And he's like, "I'm by myself, and there's nobody here that's going to help me. And I did it alone." And, and again, the, the wicked of the most wicked. Which is why, and again, the day of vengeance, I love how you said it's just a moment, and yet in the, when he says, "For my redeemed it is to come," and that, that lasts longer, the day of the Lord.

So thanks for pointing that out. Now, one of the things is verse seven then, 'cause we have another color. So we've had two colors. We have a color for the Lord, we have a color for an unnamed individual. Now pick a color that is your favorite. I chose pink, because verse seven is now the voice of a worshiper.

Yes. And so Don, take us through verse seven as what a worshiper will say about the Lord's coming and being in red. So w- verses one through six, you, you think, "Well, okay, uh, I, I don't know about God's judgment here." And, and I want to remind everyone, Alma 42, you have Alma telling his son, "Son, you're wondering about God's judgments, whether they're fair or not.

Of course they're fair. Let me explain them to you." And Sister Hall, in our day, some people say, "Wow, I d- I'm afraid of God's judgments." Mm-hmm. But when you read verse seven, then you're calmed down, and you feel much better. Those who worship the Lord. And, and, and notice what he says here. Th- this is part of the same text.

"I," the, those who follow and love the Lord, "will recount the loving kindnesses," the hesed in plural- Mm-hmm ... "kindnesses of the Lord, the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has granted us, the many good things to the house of Israel, which he has granted them according to his mercy and according to the abundance of his loving kindnesses."

Is that hesed again? Uh, yes. Yeah, in plural. Plural to really amplify. Look, i- if some of you were a little discouraged about the previous verses, no, the Lord is the Lord full of loving kindnesses, uh, perfect, his perfections. He's perfected love, and I want to remind everyone that you and I did a podcast months ago about the five different Hebrew words for love.

Yes. There are five different words in Hebrew for, for love, and they all nuance a different aspect of love. Mm-hmm. And this is one of the most powerful, loving kindnesses. Oh, so much love from him. I love how you just pointed out, because the verses before were scary, and now we have these verses of, this verse of beauty- Yes

which is the complete opposite- Yes ... for those who are worshipers, for those who are trying, for those who love the Lord. In fact, I love how in verse se- in verse 8 when it says, "He was their savior." Like, for those of you that believe in Jesus Christ- Yes ... there's so much beauty in that wording right there.

Oh, love it, Don. I love that. Yes. Yeah. So we have a quote from pr- um, Elder Neal A. Maxwell, and we're gonna share this with you. Again, talking about, about how the Lord will return in red and the significance of that, and we're gonna share this with you. Yes. This is, this is Elder Neal A. Maxwell. "Soon He who was once mockingly dressed in purple will come again attired in red apparel, reminding us whose blood redeemed us, and having bled at every pore, how red His raiment must have been in Gethsemane, how crimson that cloak.

No wonder when the Lord comes in power and glory that He will come in reminding red attire, signifying not only the winepress of wrath- Isaiah 63, "But also to bring to our, our remembrance how he suffered for each of us in Gethsemane and on Calvary." End of quote. Wow. And when you read that part, "To bring our remembrance how he suffered for each of us in Get- Gethsemane and on Calvary," I thought of loving kindness with that right there.

Oh. Oh, yes, yes. How much he loves us. That's why he did that- Yes, yes ... because of his loving kindness. Oh, powerful, powerful, Don. So my question to you finally then at the end of this is why does this matter to you? Why does it matter that we understand that he'll come in red? Uh, it matters to me because it will remind us of Jesus Christ's everlasting, eternal, infinite atonement in Gethsemane- Oh, mm-hmm

and again on the cross. Beautiful. Wow. Thank you, Don. That's the end. That's the end of our discussion. We're done. Wow. I love th- and let me just say this, thank you so much for paying the price to understand Hebrew and to understand Isaiah, because I have been so filled with light today by the way that you have just taught these chapters.

And so I hope everyone listening has had a great experience. Isaiah is fun. Isaiah is, is doable. It's it's manageable when you have the right ways to read them, and again, it's because of Hebrew for sure. It's changed my life. And if anyone listening, if you wanna know more about Hebrew, there's a class Don teaches online, and you can take it.

I highly recommend it. We'll put a link in our show notes to that class. 'Cause aren't you starting up a new class this fall? Yes. Yeah, we, we are. Okay, so for those of you who wanna take the class, all you ne- it's free. That's the crazy thing. And so Don teaches it for free. You just have to buy the textbook that goes with it, which is not expensive.

And if you can't be there every day for when the class starts, they record it and put it on YouTube- Yeah ... so you can watch it at your leisure. And just join us as we study Hebrew. It is so worth it. And then again, Don and I, we do a fun podcast together called Jesus Christ in Scripture. It's on YouTube, and if you wanna know more in-depth Hebrew words about this specific lesson, we, we kind of culled it a little bit.

We pulled back, but there's so much more that we share on our YouTube show. And so I highly recommend going and just getting more out of that and seeing some more that Don teaches with his Hebrew translation of Isaiah. So thanks, Don. You're the best. Uh, this has been an absolute privilege to talk about our savior, Jesus Christ.

Absolutely. And I love that I have such a testimony now of when he returns, I will know what to look for. I'll know the color. Me too. I'll recognize it. Yes.
