Sponsored: Add Interaction and Entertainment to Your FHE Lessons

I'm a dad of five kids and now a grandfather to ten. I had been feeling like my family's routine with FHE needed more excitement and interaction from everyone involved. Were all of these years of teaching going in one ear and out the other—or were the lessons and stories taking root? I decided to create an interactive board game with questions on the computer to test and teach concepts of the gospel to my family in a new and exciting way. The interest and participation each week in FHE have totally changed for my family and I want to share this with your family too.

Gospel learning takes place as you answer questions about the scriptures. You determine how long the game will take, and of course—it wouldn't be FHE night without treats involved!

Over 1000 questions online covering the Bible, Book of Mormon (2020 curriculum questions included), Pearl of Great Price, Articles of Faith, as well as the Hymn Book and the Children’s Songbook.  Questions are presented on your computer or phone and as correct answers are given, the player receives a small treat of their choice that you provide (favorite candies or crackers resembling goldfish) or whatever will best motivate the player to win the Tree of Life.

This game provides great opportunities for teaching moments about the scriptures. For example, there was a question about the prodigal son eating the food for the pigs. My grandkids thought that was pretty gross because they didn’t know the parable. I stopped the game and told them the story of the Prodigal Son as they listened intently, and then we continued playing the game. For me, that moment was priceless.  This game has provided great teaching moments for me to teach about the prophets in the scriptures, the teachings of the Savior, and gospel principles such as tithing, faith, and sacrifice.
