SALT LAKE CITY - A week ago, City Creek Center celebrated its first anniversary. A number of state and local officials commended the development’s positive impact on the long-term vitality of Salt Lake’s central business district.
“Most of the good things that are happening in downtown are being driven by City Creek Center,” said Jason Mathis, executive director of the Downtown Alliance.
Along with millions of visitors and shoppers coming to City Creek Center, downtown growth has come from many new residents who now call City Creek their home. “Condominium sales are steady,” stated project spokesman Dale Bills. “As prices firm up in the overall real estate market, we are seeing more and more interest in City Creek’s condo properties.”
Young professionals, empty nesters, and retired couples are all finding City Creek to be the perfect location. “Our owners like the idea of driving less because they are close to historic Temple Square, Abravanel Hall, Capitol Theater, Energy Solutions Arena and all the other arts, culture, dining, and entertainment options in downtown,” explained City Creek Living sales director Chris Corroon. “Downsizing from a large suburban home to the simplicity and convenience of urban living gives them more time to do the things they enjoy.”
