Soaring Southern Utah
Horseback riding
Retrace the steps of the infamous outlaw Butch Cassidy on Butch Cassidy’s trail. Ride along in true cowboy form on horseback through the Wild West. All ages and experience levels are welcome to take a ride around the edge of Bryce Canyon National Park to the rim that overlooks the tall, thin spire hoodoos. This ride will be one to remember, especially if you ride at sunset.

Experience the canyon up close as you trot on the switchbacks of Red Canyon, a similar view to Bryce Canyon, but less crowded. Or tour through the Ponderosa forests in the Grand Staircase region year-round.
Hiking
The go-to classic activity is putting on a pair of hiking boots and hitting one of the many trails. Several hiking trails are scattered throughout the area and give families the opportunity to slow down and talk with each other while taking in the breathtaking views. The Mossy Cave Trail is a short, easy stroll to red pinnacles at the bottom of Bryce Canyon, a waterfall and ends at Mossy Cave. Queen’s Garden Trail is another family-friendly trail along the bottom of the canyon with close-up views to unique rock formations. Queen’s Garden trail is considered an intermediate level hike. For the hiking-enthusiast families, Fairyland Loop Trail is an 8.3-mile, round-trip hike. Venture down into the amphitheaters and labyrinths, travel among hoodoos, spires and the deep canyons of pink, tan and white.
For those feeling truly adventurous, they can take their family for a hike through the slot canyons. Carved by water and wind, slot canyons are narrow hiking trails that leave adventurers amazed. Enjoy jumping over or tramping through small rivers that meander through the slim canyons as the sandstone walls rise like great giants above everyone’s heads. These hikes are unforgettable and a must-do for each family bucket list.
Mountain biking
Parents can help take their children to the next level as they introduce them to mountain biking. Ruby’s Inn rents hardtail and full-suspension mountain bikes that families can use to explore the winding trails around Ruby’s Inn on the paved Canyon 2 Canyon Trail. The trail starts at Red Canyon, parallels Scenic Byway 12 and showcases the incredible views before it ends at Inspiration Point in Bryce Canyon. For the always active, bike-loving families, try to ride the whole 20-mile trail! For beginners, there are plenty of stops, places to exit, turnaround or take the shuttle back to the resort.
Scenic flights
The Historic Bryce Canyon Airport located at Ruby’s Inn provides scenic, F.A.A.-certified plane and helicopter flights. Soar above the red hoodoos and amphitheaters of Bryce Canyon National Park! Enjoy the unique birds-eye view of the stunning scenery. Flight tours can also take families to Monument Valley or all the way to the Grand Canyon.
Ruby’s Inn Rodeo
Catch the authentic display of the Wild West at the Ruby’s Inn Rodeo. From Wednesday through Saturday night, every week from Memorial Day to the middle of August, guests can take in the thrilling fun and excitement of the rodeo. Watch the bronco busters and cowboys present their skills in this western competition. There’s no better way to enjoy the spectacle of the old west than a family-friendly rodeo event.
Ebenezer's Barn & Grill Live Country Music Dinner Show
