Texas teens re-enact LDS pioneer journey

Teens from Houston and Fort Bend County recently spent their spring break re-enacting the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints emigration of the late 1850s.

Approximately 100 youth took part in the trek in the Sabine National Forest. The teens pulled handcarts during the day and camped at night. They cooked their own food and wore clothing similar to those worn by the pioneers, as well as taking part in other activities from the days of the pioneers.
