What Does the Bible Say About Fantasy Football?

MR says: We know that the Bible can provide us with answers to any question in our life. But what does this sacred work have to say about fantasy football and gambling?

It’s almost football season. For more than 30 million Americans, that means it’s almost fantasy football season, too.

Even though fantasy football is popular, believers have often wrestled with whether to participate in the online sports game because some view fantasy football as a form of gambling, a sometimes addictive activity that believers don’t always embrace.

The Bible doesn’t explicitly state that believers shouldn’t gamble, but it alludes to avoiding addiction or activities that would take a believer away from honoring God, according to Bible.org.

This can be seen in Corinthians 10:23, which reads, “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.”
