Latter-day Saint Life

A Simple Message Everyone Should Read On St. Patrick's Day: You're Lucky Enough

For this Saint Patrick's Day, learn what luck really means, and how you have it in infinite measure in your life.

As Latter-day Saints, we know that nothing comes from chance or happenstance; there is a purpose to our lives and experiences. Take a little extra time to sit down today and create a list of the things that show how lucky or blessed you are. And share some in the comments below.

About a year and a half ago we moved to a beautiful mountain valley. We are surrounded by the Wasatch mountain range to the west, including Mount Timpanogos, and the Uintah mountain range to the east.

On the local Facebook page someone wrote: “If you’re lucky enough to live in the mountains, you’re lucky enough.”

It was the first time I’d heard that phrase, and it got me thinking of all the different ways I am lucky enough:

If you’re lucky enough to be able to park your car in a garage in the winter, you’re lucky enough.

If you’re lucky enough to know how to read, you’re lucky enough.

If you’re lucky enough to have your mom or dad still around, you’re lucky enough.
