Some Colorado residents oppose new LDS temple in Fort Collins

Several neighbors living in the Westchase neighborhood at the southeastern edge of Fort Collins are asking Larimer County commissioners to stop plans for a temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church wants to build a temple at the southeast corner of Trilby and Timberline roads just outside of Fort Collins city limits.

Neighbors say the temple will hurt property values and increase traffic on already busy roads.

Before the LDS church can submit development plans, however, the church has some nearly 20-year-old complications to work out first.
